I wonder if the Japanese will fuck this up as much as America has fucked up all the Japanese horror movies we stole. =P

Why don't they come up with any new ideas? someones always remaking some movie.. Be creative and make your own original movie

  6. 6

HORRIBLE IDEA. There are some movies that should just NOT be remade!! This is one of them. Get your own damn ideas.

    Japan remaking an American movie!?

    IT'S A SWITCHAROO!! :D

I'm actually interested to see how they handle it as a whole personally. :)

It's about time that Asian cinema returned the favour. Americans constantly remake their movies, sometimes really badly (Dark Water, The Eye, Godzilla), but you'd be surprised how many great westerns were just Akira Kurosawa remakes. People keep saying American cinema has lost originality, but it's been this way for decades. A Fist Full of Dollars (Yojimbo), The Outrage (Rashomon) and The Magnificent Seven (Seven Samurai), remakes!
Shall We Dance was a Japanese remake too! Why give JLo any reason to act? Oh, and The Departed was a Hong Kong film called Infernal Affairs. I liked both, but still, The Departed was made only four years after. I wouldn't expect that from Scorsese.
It's bad enough that the US is remaking The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo while it is still out in some theatres. So laaaame.

No, no, and NO — you cannot remake the best movie (IMHO) of all time. No Patrick, no Demi - no movie :(

don't care since its in Japan.

Hm.. interesting to see how the remake will be. But Nanako Matsushima is an amazing actress! She's one of my fave Japanese actresses. I think the guy who is directing it, Taro Otani also directed the Gokusen j-drama..

I guess I'll still look forward to it to see the Japanese version, but also see Nanako Matsushima in it as well!

ppl need to stop with the remakes.

Well, well, the japanese movie industry seems to come up with their ideas in the same way the american film industry does… remakes and sequels (and in 3-D of course).

    It's funny… and sad, actually.
