J. Hud Is No Beyonce!
That's what the record execs want her to believe!
Jennifer Hudson is hard at work on her second studio album after receiving some negative feedback from producers and songwriters at EMI Publishing's upfront presentation.
J Records' Larry Jackson presented some of Jennifer's new music, but it was too reminiscent of dance hits like Beyonce's! An insider reveals:
"The songs she recorded so far were mostly Euro-dance music suited for Rihanna or Lady Gaga.
"The producers and songwriters unanimously agreed the music didn't fit Jennifer and encouraged Larry to send her back into the studio. The consensus was that the songs were not so J. Hud."
Yet Hudson's rep says everything is going to plan saying that she "received terrific feedback on the material" and that they are only in the "beginning stages" of recording the album. But the insider continues:
"Jennifer's first album managed to go platinum thanks to name recognition and the wave she was riding from Dreamgirls, but it didn't yield any major pop hits. She needs to really get on her game if she wants to continue her career as a recording artist."
Hopefully she finds her sound and the album is a big success!
But don't try to be anyone else, J. Hud — just be yourself!

maybe this is jennifer's style now. it seems like everytime an artist does something similar to another artist, they are automatically copy-cats and looked down on, when PERHAPS the artist is just naturally growing in that direction. Idol stars rarely get to express their true selves on their first album, so this could be the true jennifer trying to emerge. just let her do what she wants–even if it IS music "suited" to gaga or rihanna or beyonce, it's not them so it will still be different. and all 3 of them are getting on my nerves lately anyway (over-exposure–they need to disappear for a while sheesh)
i guess the songwriters and producers know j.hud songs better than j.hud. maybe she was being herself. i've seen christina and pink, talk in interveiws; about how, they had to fight the producers; to be able to make their music. a singer isn't just a parrot that sings what you tell it to. they sing from their heart. i hope she is strong and makes the kind of music that is in her heart.

Gee, how aweful to have somebody with a good voice singing Dance hits. Donna Summers had a fantastic voice and sang them. What do they want, her to put out a CD of Old Gospel songs?

No, she isn't. She has one of those magnificent voices. Maybe she needs BIG songs like Celine or Susan Boyle instead of fly by night pop.
She had a big hit with 'spotlight' but that was the r and b chart. i don't know if pop songs are the way to go with her.
Ahhh, no, she is not Beyonce. First off they are two different entertainers. Second, Beyonce is wayyyyyy below Jennifer Hudsons standard of singing.. Hudson can really sng. I mean, she has the pipes.. Beyonce has a good voice that has made great songs but JHud has a great voice that can mak great songs, but most are good songs..
well why can't she do songs that are reminiscent of gaga or rihanna? maybe she would of gotten more fans? however people don't like that at the same time, like christina aguilera trying to have a pop hit lol. maybe it was a blessing in disguise?

Jhud is no Beyonce you got that right. she is Jennifer Hudson the one and only, and Beyonce is who ever she is. Jen Hudson mother brought her up to be a trend setter and not a follower. The rumors about the album is a LIE, and we all know they came from her R&B peers. Jhud has them running scared and telling lies all over the place. See people don't just tell lie on anybody. Jhud is the best female vocalist in the game today hands down, and she is way to busy staying focused on her dreams and goals to even comment. HATERS are always going to HATE!!!

jhud should only see that as a compliment. I would love for someone to tell me i'm the anti gaga or rihanna….it means she can actually SING! (imagine?) I would love to hear more singers and less performers on the radio.
