The "Music City Keep on Playin' – A Benefit for Flood Relief" telethon in Nashville raised more than $1.7 million with the city's country stars at the helm of the relief effort.

Brad Paisley and his wife, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, co-hosted the show and donated $100,000 themselves!

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman were also at the event working the phone lines. Keith says:

"This town has been good to us. We had our little girl Sunday Rose here, and we are going over there [to the call center] to do our part."

Brad, Keith, Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum, Sheryl Crow and Martina McBride all played to a sold-out audience at the Ryman Auditorium, broadcast on the Great American Country network.

Proceeds went to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee and you can still donate at http://gactv.com/help or texting "GAC" to 501501 will give $10 to the CFMT.

i'll say it - if the celebs just donate about a $100G each themselves, they'll raise more money than taking pledges from average joes.

So where is the concern of the Hollywood libitards???????????????? They are too busy trying to get the pedophile Polanski freed or licking Messiah Dumbama's ass.

Yay got to love country music musicians helping out. I hope they all donated a lot themselves.

I love that country stars will do this for their home. So many of them live there and lost equipment themselves in the flood damage, yet they're still willing to donate and host a telethon for other people when they could just ignore it.
More reason to love country music in my opinion. Nashville isn't like any other place.

I wanted to take calls but I was too busy with Todd's friends trying to make Alaska its own country. Maybe next flood I can help out. I'll get back to ya!

If it weren't for the country celebs stepping up nobody would be giving any money to Nashville. It's bad there and the mainstream media is ignoring it. People can't give money to something they aren't aware of. Sad thing is we're the first one's to jump and give give give to Haiti and Africa but Nashville is suffering out our own back door. I'm sorry I guess the media only covers flood stricken US cities (New Orleans) if it is being looted and murders are happening every night. Everyone in Nashville is helping their neighbors not stealing from them, I guess that's not news enough for the media to cover. The Hollywood left only seems to care if it's political or something for the needy overseas. At least these country stars are doing their best to help the place they live.

Not nearly enough. The damage is in the billions. all those country superstars and their huge wealth. they need to spread some of it around. the only one that I have heard about giving big is Taylor Swift. What about everyone else like Kenny chesney, toby Keith, Tim McGraw and so many other superstars who are filthy rich. This is their town. The problem is they always go to the little people trying to raise money. Open up your walets for your town superstars.
