Disney To Spend Big $$$ On Cinderella Remake?

Disney's got a new plan of attack in taking all your money: Take stories they already made classics and reinvent them, put them in 3-D and charge out the ass!

Hope that is okay with you because that's about all that is coming out of the Disney studios these days.

First Alice in Wonderland, soon The Sorcerer's Apprentice, and now, we have news that they are looking to turn Cinderella into a live-action remake.

This one is definitely for the ladies! (So were the 40 million other movies based off this stoopid story!)

According to sources, a 7-figure pitch for the flick has already been made and approved. Aline Brosh McKenna, writer of The Devil Wears Prada and 27 Dresses, is already working on the script.

zZzZzz! We'll pass!

How about U?

you know perez, you may not like the story & i certainly don't know if i agree with another remake; but i think the old disney stories are a lot better than the crap nick & disney are pumping out these days. i don't think anyone who visits your site is really asking for your opinion, just report & shut up.

    Cinderella a stooopid story?
Way to go Perez, bashing a fairy tale that been a staple for kids and adults since 1697.
    Perez the great litterary critic!
Bwa haha (as he would so eloquently "write"

I will definitely see it and take my little girl to see it as well, if it is not geared towards adults. The reason they keep re-making these movies is because they are CLASSICS. These movies will keep being remade until the end of time. Every generation deserves to have their own version. Why is that a bad thing?

well, you don't get it… that it is made for young kids, those who were not born when the first Cinderella came out. don't you get it, that we moving from a generation to generation, but we have this beautiful story coming thru one to another, just changing it's appearance to still be entertaining for the kids who are used to Transformers and Ice Age. i'll definitely will bring my kids to watch it. especially if it's in 3D. duh!

The sorcerer's apprentice had actually been presented in IMAX #d about 10 years ago… guess they'fre just going to dig it out of storage.

and calling Cinderella a ridiculous DISNEY story is just plain false… take it up with Charles Perreault, hundreds of years ago…

  6. 6

why??? oh god please no……when i say have you seen the movie Cinderella i hope kids in the future dont think of the new one but the old one….

Kids need movies, too; even in 3D. Then there's that money thing you so graphically pointed out, as well; and the money's in 3D too.

This actually excites me. Why am I noticing so many negative comments left for you on here? Maybe you need to ask yourself this question.

  9. 9

if they don't "modernize" it and stay true to the story, I'd go see it.

  10. 10

I don't know if Cinderella qualifies as a 'stoopid' story seeing as it is hundreds of years old and way older than Disney itself… But, I suppose you don't like female centered stories to begin with.

  11. 11

How can a fairy not like Fairytales? Stop thinking of only yourself and consider those of us with families and children who might be the "target" group for these movies. I'm sure if the cast was all queers you'd think it was the greatest.

This shouldnt be news. Disney themselves issued a statement recently that this is the only kind of movies they will be making they said they are going to focus on remaking classics and movies with large merchandising campaigns. They lost big bucks last year on movies like Old Dogs so they are done trying new ideas

    Stoopid story?
    .
If it was a gay man going after the Prince, you be all over it like White on Rice!
    .
Screw you, Pervez. It's a fine story and just because you are one of the Ugly Stepsisters, doesn't make us any less of a Cinderella!

  14. 14

oh GOSH!! lets see what the general public think…

they are doing a remake of that satanic, occultist, racist movie the sorcerers apprentice??? WOW!

i always like cinderella as a slumbery bedtime movie, but its not meant to be all 3D and big screen, at least i dont think…

  15. 15

how many cinderella remakes are they gonna make. ive seen alice in wonderland and thought it was alright, but not great. the movie industry is seriously thinking of new ways to take our money! cant they just leave the classics classics and make NEW classics. im sick of seeing the remakes of stuff.

  16. 16

cinderella is awesome you dumb fuck it is a classic! every girl loves it.

  17. 17

zZzZzz! We'll pass! - Angelina Jolie movies. Boring, all the same. zZzZzz! We'll pass! zZzZzz! We'll pass! zZzZzz! We'll pass! zZzZzz! We'll pass! zZzZzz! We'll pass! zZzZzz! We'll pass! zZzZzz! We'll pass! zZzZzz! We'll pass! zZzZzz! We'll pass!

  18. 18

Have you seen Cinderella? It kind of sucks. :) A revamp would be welcome.

  19. 19

instead of recreating the same crap, they should really thrive and try to bring more exciting and new films.

  20. 20

Fvcking stupid. More waste of time, space, energy & money. The original classics are perfect & all you need. the children today love them. All these remakes are ridiculous. Another flagrant waste of money is using all these "celebrity voices" in the animations. As far as Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty & other classics, the unknown voices were perfect. These greedy, fat celebs who do this are just taking work from some poor voice-character actor & being OVER-paid to do it. Pigs.

  21. 21

Man oh man, I am excited!! This is not a stoopid story, it's a classic and like others have said..every generation does deserve their own version;) You can most certainly count me in

  22. 22

Finally you're talking sensible about disney! :)

  23. 23

idk- i really liked the original. to me, one of the best things about disney movies is the way they look. the original cinderella (and snow white, and sleeping beauty) each had their own beautiful artistic style. personally, i am wholly uninterested in a remake.

i suppose i can't blame them for wanting to make money on a classic, though. i would rather see them make *other* fairytales or myths into movies, though. persephone, anyone? (and before you say it's too dark a myth, think of what they did to snow white and cinderella to make it more palatable). if disney (or anyone) made a persephone movie- i would be ALL OVER IT!

  24. 24

Well, I don't think it's stupid at all. I'm happy that Disney is remaking their classics. I'm a little upset because I thought that they were going to do a movie about Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.

  25. 25

Hmmmm, I find this interesting. Now I love a good Disney movie, and this is certainly a classic, but haven't there been countless Cinderella remakes? Just off the top of my head there was the original animated version and a couple of sequels if I remember correctly. The Julie Andrews version, the Leslie Ann Warren version, more recently the Brandi version. And all the spin offs, 'A Cinderella Story' with Hilary Duff, 'Another Cinderella Story' with Selena Gomez, and wasn't 'Enchanted' an ode to Cinderella in some ways? Is there really a need for yet another remake??

  26. 26

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! It's a classic for a reason!! LEAVE IT ALONE!!!
