Singer/songwriter Sia wants to clarify some comments she made in a recent interview about retiring as a performer.

In an exclusive statement to PerezHilton.com, the Australian tells us:

hey.
i just wanted to let you know my plan,today at least.
i am going to promote and tour the shit out of this record because i am proud of it,and i have made a commitment to many people to do so.
my plan is to keep making records,but not promote or tour them.
my plan is to do maybe 3 gigs a year,in a different city of the world every year,until i'm too tired or fat to get out of the house.
i want to have a baby,we are planning one and i want that to be a priority over the next few years.
of course everything changes,and i don't want to be one of the kids that cry wolf for attention. i really am finding it incredibly nerve wracking,being picked apart and observed and finding myself responsible for so many peoples feelings,needs and sometimes even incomes. i'm even shaking right now,as it type this,after just having gone to your site for a bit of juicy gossip i never thought i would become.
i really am living the dream of a ten year old that thought if she was famous her dad would love her more.
as a 34 year old woman i'm realizing i was not built for this kind of scrutiny,and i am not comfortable with it.
i wanted to thank you for your support over the years,you really helped my career and i know you were a genuine fan,which i appreciated.
i'm sad you don't like 'you lost me' but i understand one can't please everybody all the time,so i just hope her fans do.
i'm gonna have a break from everything but email on the internet for a while, but wanted to clarify what's happening for me right now,seeing as you are the queen of all media.

Oh well I guess most yanks dont know good music when its not rammed down their throats or played on every radio station/mall/supermarket ad nauseum! Sia is too talented for US, I dont know why she stays there. Anyway, best of luck with whatever you do, I am a true hardcore Sia fan (always will be) so will await the new album and the ones after you return from your baby plans! PS Hopefully you do a stop in your hometown before you 'retire' woooot!!

I just wanted to say that it's very important to try and remember that Perez Hilton is an international website, visited by people all over the world and not just Americans. So just because a few ignorant Americans (who clearly have no interest in anything that goes on outside of their country) have no idea who Sia is, it doesn't mean that the rest of the world don't care about this letter. I suggest a few of these critics at the very least type Breath Me into youtube, or watch the last scene from the last episode of Six Feet Under (which was no small feat for an up until then unknown artist from Australia) Maybe then they'd realise that just because she doesn't look like Jessica Simpson, that perhaps this artist has something deeper and more interesting to offer them through her music? As Albert Einstein once said "Great spirits have always encountered violent oppostion from mediocre minds" Never has this been more true. Stay who you are Sia, those of us capable of discerning real talent know it when we see it.
