Did he learn nothing from the last time??? Someone revoke his Gmail account!!

Many of you know Nicolas Chartier as one of the producers of The Hurt Locker and the only member of the producing team unable to attend the Oscars this year because of his big mouth.

Well, he is at it again! Chartier is still firing off e-mails, this time to people who oppose his lawsuit against BitTorrent sites that are illegally letting folks download his movie for free. One such email was found - and it is a doozy!

Nicolas writes:

Subject: RE: Hurt Locker lawsuit

Hi Nicholas, please feel free to leave your house open every time you go out and please tell your family to do so, please invite people in the streets to come in and take things from you, not to make money out of it by reselling it but just to use it for themselves and help themselves. If you think it's normal they take my work for free, I'm sure you will give away all your furniture and possessions and your family will do the same. I can also send you my bank account information since apparently you work for free and your family too so since you have so much money you should give it away… I actually like to pay my employees, my family, my bank for their work and like to get paid for my work. I'm glad you're a moron who believes stealing is right. I hope your family and your kids end up in jail one day for stealing so maybe they can be taught the difference. Until then, keep being stupid, you're doing that very well. And please do not download, rent, or pay for my movies, I actually like smart and more important HONEST people to watch my films.

best regards,

Nicolas Chartier
Voltage Pictures, LLC

Brr! That was cold!!!

Bent out of shape, much?

Hey, you've got your Oscar, you've got your paycheck. Frankly, we doubt there is anymore money to squeezed out of the flick anyway so just chill out.

Afterall, it's not like you guys made Avatar!

Ha!

He's got a right to be mad! I can't belive you're bashing a man for being against theft! There's something very wrong with you Mario…

  2. 2

    He is a moron.

  3. 3

nicolas and nicholas? or did someone make a mistake?

  4. 4

this dude has made almost 17,000,000 off this flick…he needs to cool out before somebody fucks him up….read the web dude your a wanted man

  5. 5

mario you're a douch. it doesn't matter how much money he's already made, stealing is stealing. i can't believe you support that.

  6. 6

Yur right he needs to learn when to keep his trap shut. It already cost him a trip to the oscars.

  7. 7

Good for him…I'd be pissed too. And oh, by the way Asshole….Avatar didn't win an Oscar, Hurt Locker did and what the hell is the difference. His points are valid and if someone was bootlegging Gag-Gags music, you'd be all over it like white on rice. Theft is theft. You shouldn't be advocating it. But then again, you have nothing between your ears that even comes close to brains, so why would we expect any coming close to common sense from you.

  8. 8

Re: HarisPilton – And you really think he cares about that? I seriously doubt it. You're probably one of those people who pirates music, right and doesn't consider it stealing?

    Idiot!!

  9. 9

Yeah, he is pretty fucking stupid. It is not like walking into your house and stealing your shit, it is like cloning your shit and just taking the copy! Your movie had decent sales, and probably has decent disc sales. Those people who downloaded the copy more than likely would not have purchased a ticket anyways, the losses are minimal. Look at Avatar you twat, made the most money ever and was also the most downloaded movie ever as well. I highly doubt that sales would have been much higher if there was no pirated downloads. Your medium is dying, and you can try all the lawsuits you like but you will eventually lose as people become more and more internet savvy. The music industry is getting ravaged and that is because the product they release is fucking terrible (Gaga, Bieber, Cyrus, etc) so people are waking up and not buying that shit anymore. I mean $12.00 for one or two good songs and 8 shitty ones? How is that good for us? Nicolas Chartier, please fuck off and get into the 21st century.

  10. 10

Perez, considering your attitude, I assume you will now be making all the recordings on your own record lable available to the public for free.

  11. 11

I hope everyone who does steal music, steals your artists songs Perez….I hope NO ONE buys your artists music and steals all of it.

  12. 12

    Re: Alliestp
Obviously reading isn't your strong suit because I didn't even mention internet pirating, you dipshit.

  13. 7tizz says – reply to this

    13

It's a shame that this movie got an Oscar over Avatar. It shouldn't even be in the same category.

  14. 14

This movie was 100x better than "Avatar" so he's probably glad he made an Oscar worthy movie rather than a CGI nightmare.

  15. 15

Re: HarisPilton – What's your point….oh, that's right you don't have one. And obviously you're too stupid to see the corrolation of you saying he has nothing to be upset about and my comment about pirating….You think it's ok to steal, whether it be movies or music. People who see Mr. Chartier's point and agree with it, don't. Dipshit???? How original. Again….Idiot!!

  16. 16

    Re: Alliestp
I don't support internet pirating in any form. I also don't support this guy's behavior, which is the only thing I've written about. You're the one who jumped to conclusions, thinking that because I don't particularly like his email, or his behavior during the oscars I MUST be a supporter of internet pirating. Stop trying to create an argument out of nothing.

  17. 17

I can understand him being pissed about people pirating his movie but saying "I hope your family and your kids end up in jail one day" is a little overboard.

  18. 18

It is all about money. If you love what you do then you shouldn't give two shits about money. If you want to make movies to entertain people then who gives a hoot if some people watch it for free.

  19. 19

i rented the dvd through redbox, but considered it not worthy of making a copy of….am i i trouble?

    @retardo81…..nice post, wholeheartedly agree!!!!

  20. 20

if people stopped stealing shit he wouldnt have to send these emails

i couldnt care less about movie studio's or big rock stars - hello metallica - but indie and slightly more popular artists cant make enough money to freakin live on
pay for the shit you listen to and watch ppl

  21. 21

He's an idiot ! Just for that, we should all download it so that he does not make any more money off of it.

  22. 22

for reals. get over it. hurt locker sucked and didn't deserve any of the attention it got. hey nicolas, i want my MY money back for the movie ticket i purchased.

  23. 23

Uh, unlike say the music industry, the artists who make movies get their check and are done with it. Sure rarely will a star get a percentage of stuff, but usually it's just the said above pissed off producers who, frankly, are the scum of the earth, that get burned by downloading. As a mild mannered you know, nudge nudge, I wouldn't bother wasting the time watching this film even for free because word is, well, it sucks.

  24. 24

WTF is he yapping about, I see his movie all the time browsing thru torrents, I just pass it right up..LMAO!!!

  25. 25

You'd be bent too if people stole Pig Face Record's tunes. Oh, wait, no one does, ’cause no one likes that crap. (Slimy ranks 80,981 in record sales at Amazon.com. Over 4 tunes were downloaded to reach that number).

  26. 26

Yeah, coming from someone who steals photos and stories to put on his site, I guess you wouldn't see the point. He didn't make this film for charity. You want the product, you pay for the product. It's not public domain. I like his email.

  27. 27

And you're right. He didn't make Avatar. He produced the Best Picture of the Year. A little different.

  28. 28

Re: roxybabie627 – So you volunteer for a living? You decline your paycheck?

  29. 29

I would not waste my time watching this movie even when it comes on cable….No worries Dude, not stealing here.
