Sarah McLachlan Admits Lilith Fair Isn't Selling Well!

Wow, that's honest!

Sarah McLachlan admitted that the ticket sales for the upcoming Lilith Fair are "pretty soft" right now despite some big names joining her on the tour.

She says:

"There's about 300 seats out of 16,000 or whatever that are $250. Then there's 9,000 that are 25 dollars, so come on. We're working our hardest to have reasonably priced tickets so it can be accessible for everyone and that people will want to come.

"We might get slaughtered, I don't know, but I kind of have blind faith in the fact we're putting on a really great show and we always have, and that will bring people in the end."

At least she's being optimistic!

Are U going to Lilith Fair this summer?

Re: April 20th – I don't think it is even going to be near me, but I would go……. and use the bathroom during that song… yes, the song is ruined for me now because of that. And again, walk around during selena gomaz and rihania.

  4. 4

why would rihania be there anyway? can't she sell a concert on her own?

  5. 5

    hell no! nasty stanky lesbians

  6. 6

Re: justtfax – "rihania"….haha….that made me laugh - sounds like a country (I understand you could give a shit about the correct spelling - still funny)….then again, your whole response gave me a giggle….."use the bathroom" "and again walk around"……comical! :)

  7. 7

It's probably not selling out because they asked Colbie Caillat to play this time. Who the hell wants to spend money to see her when they can just go to the town fair and watch her perform. Isn't she doing the town fair circuit now?

  8. 8

she was "cool" back in 1997. move on already.

  9. 9

Hmm, a bunch of hormonal middle aged women singing about how men do them wrong, how wonderful their kids are and how hard it is to find me with the same levels of integrity that seem to be a god given gift to women alone..Yeh, sounds fun!

  10. 10

    PEOPLE AREN'T INTO MUSIC ANYMORE.

THEY'RE INTO THE HOT HORSE MESS THAT IS TRANNY CACA.

  11. 11

No one cares about feminism and gynocentricity anymore. Go back to the 70's, Sarah! The sexual revolution is over!

  12. 12

Love her and she put on a great concert

  13. 13

wanted to but all 3 dates near me have awful lineups. Maybe the lineups were better it would make more money.

  14. 14

    Re: leahrahye
Part of the reason I'm not attending near me is the lineup. I saw it 10 years ago, and they had the Indigo Girls performing, and now they're performing in all the cities around me again.aargh. The rest of the lineup didn't impress me enough to want to go shell out some money to see it..sorry, Sarah..and that may be a lot of peoples' sentiment as well.
But there is a diverse lineup..it's not just men-hating women singing about hating men.

  15. 15

SARAH NEEDS TO PERFORM TOPLESS. Then tickets will sell.

  16. 16

Who has the $25 to go to that after I spent $650 to see Gaga four times.

  17. 17

Re: dickdynomite – The lezzies would totaly line up for that shit!

  18. 18

I love Sarah M. I would totally go to the Tampa or Palm Beach shows if they were indoor venues. August is the most miserable, hot, and extremely humid month in Florida. The heat index is regularly over 100 F– even after the sun sets!!! So, no, I won't be attending :-(

  19. 19

    nope.

  20. 20

i thought the lilith fair is for lesbians??

  21. 21

    Lilith Fair - Yawn… SO '90s !

  22. 22

    Lilith Fair blows. Who cares.

  23. 23

Who would want to spend the day with a bunch of hairy libitard women who don't use deodorant!

  24. 24

Lilith Fair was awesome the first time around because there were big names there and it wasn't such a commercial cash grab. When I first saw it the tickets were reasonably priced and it was festival seating so you sat wherever you wanted to which meant if you were there early you got front row center. Now the ticket prices have doubled and it's assigned seating which totally takes away from the "fair" like atmosphere. And there sure ain't no $25.00 tickets here in Canada.

  25. 25

Ya there's no $25 dollar tickets here in MN!! The lowest price is $64 bucks and the lineup isnt that great.

  26. 26

Re: Hate Low Class People – They would, but the deodorant stick becomes hopelessly ensnarled in their tangle of underarm hair.

  27. 27

Ugh NO! Womyns music is generally awful…and Sarah McLaghlan is enough to put a crackhead to sleep

  28. 28

Wow, really people??? You have to be fucking kidding me. You cannot possibly think that this Lilith will be the same as the original, but it still holds the same meaning and stands for the same things. Of course the line-ups are different, it's a different generation of singers out there then it was back during the original Lilith, and of course the ticket prices are different. I mean what was the last show you saw and not paid out your ass for the ticket? If you truly understood what this whole thing was about you would know that it's not about man hating singers gathering in one place, it's about so much more. It's about friendship, music, and yes women coming together to celebrate just that, and so much more. It's an experience that I'll never forget. And as for all you lesbian haters, well you all can go fuck yourselves not all of us choose not to shave and use deodorant, in fact most of us do and you know we look better than you, so why don't you go back into the far reaches of hetroville and I'll make sure your girlfriend enjoys herself during her time at the genius that is Lilith.

  29. 29

Re: biddy – Man you really need to come up with a different argument for why you hate Sarah McLachlan. I mean did she personally fuck you over or something? Seriously, I would love to know the story behind why you hate her so much? I've met her and she was the most down to earth, nicest person. I have to say though you seem to hate her on personal level which is your thing but her music is healing to a lot of people me included, so really get a new argument or shut the fuck up.

  30. 30

I'd love to go actually, but the closest one to me five hours a way and I just don't have the money to spend on a hotel room, tickets, food, gas, etc. Maybe if they had better venues, they'd be selling more tickets.

  31. 31

I'd definitely pay $25 to hear Sarah McLachlan sing her old material. The new release though, I didn't like. And I don't know about the rest of the singers at Lilith Fair. I downloaded the free song with someone else singing with Sarah (I think it was Angel) and the other person's voice was awful! It just ruined the song.

  32. 32

Re: flora_tink – It's not for lesbians, it's a Celebration of Women in Music. Anyone can go.

  33. 33

THESE TICKETS ARE SO OUTRAGEOUSLY PRICED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OUTRAGEOUS AND THAT DOESN'T EVEN INCLUDE THE B.S. EXTRA TICKET CHARGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BULLSHIT FOR A LONGTIME FAN WHO WANTED TO GO TO A SHOW - PURE BULLSHIT!!!

  34. 34

Re: Hate Low Class People – Okay dude, I'm so tired of hearing you rant thoughtlessly on this site. You are very disrespectful. Putting all politics, music, and whatnot aside, let me tell you…
As a female, I'd rather be hairy and odorous enough to repel your judgmental self-righteous kind than apply daily to my underarms the very chemicals that give mammals lymphatic, breast cancers and Alzheimer's. Poo. Plus, I bet that nasty deodorant you wear smells like a used urinal cake. Most of the "masculine" perfumes they pump into those crappy products do. I will not sell my body to the toiletries industry, thankyouverymuch.

  35. 35

    pitty poo

  36. 36

i thought lilith fair was a person?

  37. Laura says – reply to this

    37

oh i didn't know Lilith Fair was playing, yeah i'll check it out.

  38. 38

The last time Lilith Fair came to town, I misread the marquee and thought it was a performance by Liz Phair. So I went on in, but was the ONLY male in sight (other than vendors, ushers and the like). Huge groups of real uggos were roaming round the place littering the ground with debris and shouting obscenities. Eventually they spotted me (minding my own business & listening to Queen Latifah) and yelled things like "This music is NOT for you." and chanted "BREEDER" at me. Needless to say, I was petrified and ran for my life, but they pursued me vigorously. Fortunately, I careened into a vendor's cart; he was selling hot dogs on a stick. This distracted them, and I was able to make my getaway.

  39. 39

PERFORM TOPLESS AND MAYBE ILL BUY A $25 TICKET…

  40. 40

lmfao this after her arrogant comments

  41. 41

25 bucks? Umm I had supposed pre ticket sales an watta joke..In Calif nothing was under $125! what, ya gotta try an find these supposed tickets??and were they in Canada locations er wat…

  42. 42

Rihanna is at ONE of the tour dates. I think Selena Gomez might be at 2.
No one is going because no one is going to pay upwards of 100$ for one band that might be decent at their tour date.

  43. @v@ says – reply to this

    43

If she says they're $25, and others say no, they're $64, who's pocketing the difference?

  44. 44

i really wanted 2 go but nobody good coming to florida except her. the other people are martina mcbride and erykah badu and norah jones, and i dont care for them.

I was very excited about the return of Lillith Fair, I went back in '99 and saw Mya, Sheryl Crow, etc. but the Line Up for Dallas SUCKS the best act on the list is 2/3 of the Dixie Chicks named "The Courtyard Hounds" I highly doubt my friends and I will go bc of the poor lineup.
there are many AWESOME ladies going on this tour (kelly clarkson etc) but I guess Dallas isnt deserving

Re: Fumbling17 – oh. that's what my brother always told me.

  48. 48

Re: flora_tink – No it's not just for lesbians, it's A Celebration of Women in Music. That means that all the singers are women or bands fronted by female singers. I mean don't get me wrong it does draw a lot of lesbian fans, but it also draws all other types of people. You should go, it's an experience you'll never forget or see any where else.
