actually - a lot have had runway success. and most of them work over in europe.

  2. 2

they should come out with america's next BOTTOM model

  3. 3

a lot of those girls on top model had success. modeling isnt like music
your not gonna hear about it unless your in that industry or looking thru the magazine
but who cares anyways, i love tyra banks

  4. 4

Re: hamnip – Wow. That was clever. Did you come up with that all by yourself?

Andre works for Vogue doesn't he? There's your answerl

  6. 6

The girls are so ugly year after year, it just make modelling no big deal and the world careless about them.

  7. 7

A lot of them are working. You won't notice unless you're really into fashion or you watch her show because she gives updates.

elyse from season one, second runner up, isvery successful in japan.

  9. 9

I've watched every cycle of ANTM, but the last few seasons it has just seemed cheezy and weird. Bad lighting, bad sound and bad acting on Tyra's part. She just acts strange anymore. Also, the last two girls they have picked have not been particularly beautiful. I think McKey shows the most promise. She is gorgeous.

  10. 10

like everyone else said, a LOT of them are successful–there are many models making hundreds of thousands of dollars, but just cuz they aren't famous like naomi or chanel iman doesn't mean they aren't makin big bucks.

a little confused though–italian vogue? as in…relevant in italy? as in NOT america? good for the model's career i guess, but kind of a disconnect for the viewers of the show here in america…

  11. 11

Re: kkimbo – I agree ..they try to choose girls that are weird looking ..that have *unique* features…thats why there aren't any pretty girls there.

Cant wait! Nicole in season 13 is by far the best I think has been on the show. I'm glad Elyse is doing well. She's gorgeous.

  13. 13

HA HA you people are crackin me up…..it's titled "america's next TOP model" not america's next model that will make money and have some success. the truth is, if it were "america's" (not japan's) next top model, those of us that don't keep tabs on the industry would still know about her. quit trying so miserable to defend mt. tyra

  14. 14

Was this really necessary? Tyra knows way more about the business than you give her credit for Perez. You're just jealous of her success.

  15. 15

There's a difference between TOP model and SUPER model. Everyone is expecting to get a SUPER model from this show. Super models are few are far between.

  16. 16

why the surprise at the next winner getting an Italian VOGUE cover? Andre L. Talley could wave his hand and make that happen in a flash. but that pretty much guarantees that next year's winner will not be black.

  17. 17

eva pigford is the only one i can think of that is really getting booked.

  18. 18

Nichole who won recently, the red headed one, is all over the steve madden website right now as a model

The only winner out of all the cycles that I've seen around is Jaslene. She landed several campaigns in Europe, the cover of Latina magazine and a couple music videos.

Eva and Yaya are also on Days of Our Lives.

  20. 20

magazines are going out of business left & right. ANY magazine would be crazy not to be mentioned on ANTM every week and Tyra is going to pick the best mag if they are all vying for the spot.

  21. 21

They ought to have done this years ago. As every winner is 18+, vying for the coveted 17 cover is pretty strange. Vogue has a lot more cred in the fashion world. I just wish they would go back to the basics, and focus less on the drama/cat spats. The first 6 episodes of cycle 14 were more than 60% DRAMA! Cycle 15 ought to be a lot more high fashion, with Vogue on the bill. We have been fans since day one of cycle 1, and we will continue to watch. Good for Tyra&co, this is a good move. I thought Andre Leon Talley was as well, but if you watch the season, he sort of over powered Tyra and Nigel, because of his "place" in the industry, he seemed to trump everything Tyra had previously decided. Kind of a let down, but not enough for us to stop watching, yet anyway.

g'day mate have a wank on me!

  23. 23

The only decent model since that show began was Allison Harvard and she wuz robbed.

    The winners are VERY commercial.

Re: #Cejers – I agree! Focusing back onto the modelling and what good modelling encompasses rather than the predictable, boring, eye rolling reality cat fights would give this show more legitimacy and credibility.

  26. 26

I didn't know that Gollum was an African American!

  27. 27

well 17teen is really sucky, in germany the get at least a german cosmopolitan title, and the whole win win is worth 400.000 Euros $$$$ not sucky 100.000 $….

  28. 28

this season's winner was totally fugly. OMG!

  29. 29

Re: fashion.freak. – if you're a fascion freak u should know that Vogue Italia is considered the bible of fashion. it's way better than the others from an artistic point of view

  30. 30

tyra is easily one of the hottest girls alive, she can do no wrong

  31. 31

Does this mean they'll stop dumping the girl who actually has the best shot at being a top model, just because Tyra deems she doesn't have a sufficiently cute bubbly personality? (See e.g. Elysse, Katarzyna, Chantal, Fo and Anya of previous seasons, all of whom are doing really well in the real world… )

  32. 32

Re: #Cejers – I agree. I have also watched since Cycle 1, and in the early days the show was great. As the Cycles went on it has gotten more and more over the top and cheezy. I think they need to get back to basics and take it more seriously. I put full blame on Tyra and her over the top antics.

  33. 33

Hard to see how this is an "upgrade" when the circulation for Italian Vogue must be miniscule compared to US Seventeen. But I guess it gets the 'chic' factor.

  34. 34

I do not like the show ANTM. It seems like a fraudulent reality show. I think the winners are pre-selected based on popularity ratings. These women look like beautiful actresses, or 'video' models. Maxim or FHM would be more suitable for the contestants on ANTM. I do not see Naomi Campells, Cindy Crawfords, Gisels, or the Kate Mosses. I have not seen one woman who commanded attention on the catwalk the way Naomi did. All these women look dorky, self-conscious, and awkward. An insult to fashion. Tyra is not opening doors as she claims she is. She is merely following in the footsteps of St Oprah. The fashion industry is draining! Per Janet Dickenson, bring back the original supermodels!

  35. 35

It's about time they got something better that Seventeen Magazine!!! Krista is a good fit for Italian Vogue. If they're going to upgrade that then they should get rid of Covergirl as well. That whole thing is a joke. You never see the ads that these girls supposedly make. The only covergirls you ever see are well known singers and actresses. Certainly not models.

  36. 36

    Re: blasted – LOL!

  37. 37

wait … you jizzed yourself in excitement getting on the show and now you trash her? Karma bus baby … honk honk … (by the way, you are one stupid fucking whore)

  38. 38

It always looks to me as if the show picks girls that aren't going to upstage Tyra. One that I saw definitely did, and she lost at the end to a nondescript girl instead. I then realized that the winner had to pose WITH Tyra. That pretty much explained it to me.
