Katherine Heigl shocked everyone when she announced that she and husband Josh Kelley were planning on adopting a child, a Korean baby named Naleigh, and that her 'special needs' would make the process go a lot faster.
In the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar, the actress reveals that those aforementioned needs were actual a congenital heart problem that has since been resolved with open heart surgery!
“Her heart is 100 percent fine now. She has a scar, so she won’t be wearing bikinis, which is fine by us. A lot of children don’t find forever homes because they’re on that special-needs list, even if it’s because of something as simple as her mother smoked cigarettes for a month, not knowing she was pregnant. That’s not so huge that you couldn’t handle it.”
Wow! They did a wonderful thing, helping little Naleigh get the help she needed!
Don't have to like her, but can't argue that her heart is in the right place!
Congratulations on the healthy and happy family!
