NPH Calls Glee "Factory Work"!

| Filed under: Neil Patrick HarrisGlee

Perhaps there is some truth to the Glee kids feeling overworked.

Neil Patrick Harris certainly felt it!

NPH had a stellar appearance on the hit FOX show this week and when asked to reflect back on it, he didn't have the greatest things to say. Oh sure, he mentions how much he enjoyed working with Joss Whedon and how amazing the show is in general, but when it came time to talk about what filming was like, that was where the real juice came leaking out. Neil explained:

"It’s a bit of factory work. It's just a lot of 'Next take! Next take! Moving on! Moving on!'… It had been a long week."

Yikes!

Neil admitted that the "wildly grueling" set took its toll on him, to the point that he forgot almost every single one of his lines the first day!

Whoa! Things need to calm down over there on the lot! Work everyone too hard and there won't be anything left for season two!

the novelty of Glee has already worn off..They won't see a third season.

it's disgusting when people that make so much money complain about their "job"……come work my 8-4:30 job, making less than $33K/yr with people bitching in your ear all day long, bosses telling you what to do, other employees incessant complaining……then gotta go home to cook/clean for myself and others, somewhere squeeze in a quick workout (without a personal trainer or gym) and finally relax anywhere between 8-10 at night……..just to do it all over again. i'd pay to have a life like these "celebrities"……….

I think it's funny, and yet predictable, that when the kids on the show say it, it must be rubbish and they're all moaners, but when one of your favourite petting idols repeats exactly the same thing, then WOW IT MUST BE DEALT WITH! Your bias has become so ridiculous over the last year or so that it's almost a parody of itself!

  4. 4

Hit your mark, say your line, sing your overproduced karaoke pop song. Suck it up Neil. You finally have a hetero-phobic show on t.v. pushing the gay agenda, you should be "singing" it's praises.

  5. 5

Im not surprised you can tell they put alot into that show.

uh….i think he is refering to 'work'. i know its a difficult concept for liberals like Harris

  7. 7

There are people who work just as hard or more in factories who do not get paid like these actors do. They need to shut the fuck up or choose a different career….and I'm a fan of Glee.

    Re: April 20th

    Thank you. I totally agree!

  9. 9

Re: buck – LOL @ 6!!!! i can always count on buck for a good laugh against the liberals…………..

You aren't telling the whole part of what he said. When he said that he forgot almost all his lines on the first day, it was because it was the day after he hosted the Oscars. He had stayed out very late, and had only a couple hours of sleep before he went to rehearse for Glee.

    Re: JeffKay

How is this show hetero phobic? You are full of shit. Every character gay or straight gets made fun of.

  12. 12

    Re: buck

How about that quitter Palin? : )

  13. 13

Re: Poindexter-X – LOL @ 12 - while I enjoy buck's comments, that hit against palin is funny too!!! can't we all just get along!?!?!?!??! :)

  14. 14

you know what's even more like factory work? ACTUAL factory work. no one should feel bad for these overpaid whiners.

  15. 15

    Re: Poindexter-X

Let's see….They fired the heterosexual stand-ins from the first season, only to replace them with homosexual ones. Almost every producer and production staff is gay. Quite a few of the directors hired, are gay. Ever hear of reverse discrimination? The cast? Hahahahahahahahahahaha. Don't even get started on that one. This show is Ryan Murphy's wetdream flashback to his youth, when he was molested at the tender age of 8….yes 8, by a 16 year old football player.

Re: Poindexter-X – you should reseach why she bailed. hundreds of fictitious ethics violations made up by theh leftist from 'MoveOn.org' that exploited a loop hole in the Alaskan constitution that stated any law suit against a government official had to be handled through personal finances. This would have bankrupted Palin and taken her focus off the state and people of Alaska. The left stikes again!! They will stop at nothing…be very careful.

  17. 17

well you can make a lot of money at your job but still have it stress you out. all jobs require work, just because his work is different from yours doesn't mean he doesn't have to bust his ass or that he doesn't have the right to complain about it. just sayin

  18. 18

    Re: April 20th

That would be great! I'm actually friends with a number of conservatives. It would be nice if we could all get along. : )

  19. 19

LOL There are some wacked out people on this board (and I can be too sometimes)~!!! Peace to all! I'm in a good mood today. Beers for all (21 and up naturally).

  20. 20

Re: fashion.freak. – he's getting probably triple for one episode that many of us make in a year (if not more)…….and we all probably work much harder than memorizing lines and singing some songs……..it's like complaining that the shirt you're wearing isn't designer……….just be happy you have a fucken shirt……

  21. 21

Agh that sounds bad. People should be able to enjoy a job they love, not just milled on and on.

  22. 22

Neil Patrick Harris Cheats on his boyfriend all the time. I know for a fact that he had sex with one of the male Cabin Crew on a Virgin Atlantic flight from the UK to LA, in the Aircraft toilet. NOT such a great guy really.

Re: Poindexter-X – we've never witnessed you being whacked out : ) and, if this market continues to sell off i'm heading for beers immediately!

  24. 24

    Re: Poindexter-X – i'll be having the mixed drink…….no beer for me :o P

  25. 25

Re: fashion.freak. – Totally agree. I've been an extra on this show twice and both were looong days. and I just had to sit around. I can't imagine them withthe dance rehersals and then doing the same routine over and over. The last time I worked it first call time was at 8 am and we didnt get out until 12:30 at night. According to the "regular" extras on the show, It's like that all the time. I'm sure the cast had to get there earlier too for hair and make-up

  26. 26

    Re: buck

    LOL! : )

  27. 27

    Re: April 20th
Yeah, I agree. I work my arse off and have basically no life because of work,
and still have no money after paying bills, food etc. They should try living in the real world. For the amount they get paid, they should be working bloody hard.

  28. 28

Seriously? I've worked in a factory and I'm not at all offended. If you read the original article it's a metaphor for the production style. ie: all the scenes/ storylines being split up and done on-linearly, without an crew reaction. One scene following the next (like an assembly line), time crunch etc. etc. He didn't say it was just like working in a factory or as hard as working in a factory. it was a"a bit like factory work." No need to be self-righteous.

  29. 29

    aww lol

An ensemble performance show like that WOULD be a ton of hard work. I've never understood why they don't stay months ahead of any schedule to enable the cast and crew to go at a comfortable pace. Oh, wait. Time is money. Never mind.

  31. 31

Well you gotta pay for the poppers and lube somehow girl.

    32

You can't have the best show on TV if you don't work hard at it… suck it up bitches!!

  33. 33

    Re: April 20th – agreed~!!!!

  34. 34

Re: JeffKay – Oh yes! Because there is so little heterosexual programming to choose from on television these days it's just a complete travesty that ONE show on network television would dare incorporate anything gay in their storylines or have any gay crew or a gay showrunner. How dare those gays think that they can have jobs in the entertainment industry!! I don't know how the straights are managing with so few choices on television!! You are a complete fucking moron. It's called a remote you idiotic redneck. If you don't like Glee, change the channel.
