Stone Temple Pilots Frontman Relapses??

This is so unfortunate.

Stone Temple Pilots bassist Robert Deleo is apparently so concerned about the band's troubled frontman Scott Weiland's possible relapse that he's hesitant to go on tour to promote their new album!

Weiland was previously treated for a heroin addiction in 2007, but now Deleo asserts that he's been showing up late to promotional photoshoots, popping pills, and drinking heavily.

He says:

"He can't got on tour. He needs help… He thinks he's clean just because he's not shooting heroin. But he's popping pills."

We hope, for at least his two young children's sake, Weiland realizes how deadly a prescription pill addiction is and modifies his behavior before it's too late!

So talented. I hope he gets better.

I just saw him in concert last night and he put on a great show! I hope this isn't true! He's messed up so many times already…there's only so much your body can take…

  3. 3

Just saw STP saturday in DC. He was obviously under the influence and totally messes up during the whole show.

Hope he can battle his disease…it's a tough one. Good luck.

I saw him sing with Camp Freddy in Miami a few years ago and he was AMAZING live. It really sucks if he can't get his shit together, such a waste of talent.

  7. 7

He's an addict, I hope he gets help. I'm a recovering alcoholic and it is TOUGH. I can't imagine also battling drugs. Good luck to him!

I partied with Scott years ago at The Masqueraders in Atlanta just by chance and ill tell you he was the nicest guy. I really hope he can find that guy again.

He was just on Howard Stern explaining how he can handle drinking and getting drunk but not using drugs. didn't take a genius to see this coming. their music isn't getting any better anyways, time to quit Scott.

This scoop is from Spin mag's last month's issue. Way to stay on top of things Mario.

This is typical for recovering Heroin addicts, especially if they've been given Methadone to combat the withdrawals… The Methadone typically throws them into the prescription drug arena… I really hope he's able to get clean and stay clean…he's SUCH a talented musician… Man, we don't need yet another statistic!!

He was pretty high in DC this weekend. A mess. You ruined that show Scott

  13. 13

Ill always love Scott hes very talented he just struggles mentally like ALLL artist.

  14. 14

Hope he finds peace. I went to high school with him and it has been fun following his career. His brother died of a drug overdose. I hope he does not put his parents through the loss of another child.

COME ON SCOTT! YOU WERE DOING SO WELL. I just saw a sTp concert on direct tv yesterday, and he looked good. Pull it together man. I was sooo looking forward to an sTp tour this summer. Stay clean for your family and fans, but most of all, yourself.

Poor guy! He really does have such a talent, and it really is a shame to see this happen to him. Just watch STP's video for Sex Type Thing and look at him now. He looks like a completely different person and it's just so sad to see him as somebody who was once so healthy and insanely talented. I really hope he get's everything together. Not even for himself, but for his kids. I'm a HUGE fan of the Stone Temple Pilots and i'd love to get a chance to see them all live in ATL, and HEALTHY of course!

  17. 17

would somebody please give him some soap!

  18. 18

Call Celebrity Rehab - they need people!!!

  19. 19

Scott is so talented but I believe addiction will always be a part of who he is because he does not know himself without it. Its sad. I'm a huge fan of the band and his solo stuff; I would love to see him truly get better someday. I'm just beginning to think that his addiction is too much a part him now.

Good luck kicking Heroin in Hollywood? Most rock stars can't perform when they are off heroin.

Like lucky h said, this is from last months Spin. This is not breaking news, but is completely derivative. If you had bothered to look into the original article instead of something posted out of context, you would see that everything is fine within the STP camp.

  22. 22

wow..just saw him lastnight in camden, nj. The show was great. He looked fine to me, but i really dont no…He looked a little heavier too, like a healthy weight, so i assumed that was cause he was done with the drinkin and drugs?

    hope it isnt true!

  23. 23

    LOL!

I saw them in KC in March, the show started an hour late b/c Scott was backstage doing whatever. My boyfriend and I were joking that he was gonna come out on stage with a rig hanging out of his arm. Needless to say he didn't, the show was awesome b/c he can always sing & dance his crazy white boy-river dance. Walking and talking were another story for him that night. He fell twice throughout the show, once he looked like he was straight outta Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas with the highstepping and then falling straight on his back. I called it 2 months ago that they wouldn't finish the tour b/c he'll be back in rehab.

  25. 25

damn. that sux. well i'm glad he's trying to do something about it

  26. 26

I saw them on Saturday (May 22) in DC. He was horrible. They were supposed to go on stage around 7:30, the entire band was there by 5:30, but Scott didn't show up until close to 8:00. He stumbled onstage, had a fresh cut under his eye, and was clearly messed up. He sounded awful, forgot some of the lyrics, and struggled to remember the name of their new album (it's self titled for gods sake!). He ruined the show.

  27. 27

I don't know how ppl can say he ruined the dc show. He's 42 - he's at the age rockstars retire rather than touring non-stop for the past 2 yrs and then some. If the show sucked that hard why did you stay? I had fun. Check it out on youtube dc101 chili cookoff and make your own opinions people.

Glad to see you read Spin. I am sure Stephen Elliot would appreciate knowing this as well, or at least enjoy a citation. Before your concerned readers rush the florist to send flowers, they may find it of interest to know the source from which you make your claims. As flattering as Mr. Elliot may find high profile fans to be, he might be less giddy to see that not only are his quotes being lifted, but used as a source to host conclusions not made in his article.

    love always,
