Hulk Hogan Suing Cocoa Pebbles

| Filed under: Legal MattersHulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan is suing Post Cereals, the maker of Cocoa Pebbles, after they allegedly used his image in a commercial.

The former wrestler believes he resembles "Hulk Boulder", a blond and mustached cartoon fighter that takes on Fred and Barney in the ring, only to be defeated by Bamm-Bamm. Hogan even claims that he used that name early in his career.

According to the federal lawsuit, Hulk "is shown humiliated and cracked into pieces with broken teeth, with the closing banner, 'Little Pieces…BIG TASTE!'" He also claims that he has been harmed by "the unauthorized and degrading depictions in the Cocoa Smashdown advertisements."

Ha! Get over yourself. Considering his family, we think he's suffered greater humiliation!

Watch the commercial (above) to see for yourself!

Talk about old news. This was reported a week ago. Way to keep things current. Just a little info for you HOMO. Hulk use to go by the name Hulk Boulder in his earlier days. The character looks like a blatant ripoff

Yeah, I see his arguement. Plus, how many Hulks do you know? It's pretty much just him.

  5. 5

He's broke. Divorced. Probably needs some cash. What better way to make some coin than a frivolous law suit that he'll probably win. Ah, I love America…

  6. 6

Americans will sue for anything. This one is as phony as yours against the manager in Toronto. Luckily, Canadian courts saw right through your crap douchebag. And your were expecting a big payout, lmao with the money promised to the Shepard Foundation, which they didn't even want. Sucks to be you.

  7. 7

    That is totally him

  8. 8

He's right, all they had to do was either change the name or the image likeness to avoid this, and/or paid him off in advance. Some id-jee-ut @ CP gonna roll for this.

  9. 9

Completely legit lawsuit for once. That looks just like him, and uses the same name. No one would ever see that commercial without thinking "that's Hulk Hogan".

=/ my dad works for Post cereal! Hulk's a fuckin asshole. Met him at my husband military base in Ft. Lewis and he was dick there too.
Pretty sick. He doesn't deserve to even be mentioned.

holy shit!! hulk hogans a cartoon!!!! kewl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It does kinda look like him

  14. 14

But the cartoon Hulk isn't bald!!

  15. 15

Well look I'm not the biggest fan of the Hogan family but clearly that is him depicted in those ads…and if he's not getting paid for using the likeness then I agree with him. The simplest thing would be to have his lawyers issue a cease and desist, but if he can get a few bucks out of it, why not? Stupid Post.

  16. 16

Out of money in HOllywood? SUE SUE SUE!

  17. 17

Get a job poor bitch! Leave yummy coco pebbles alone! You should be flattered someone was even thinking of you.

  18. 18

LOL seriously? The Hulk should be happy for the publicity, considering how no one cares about him anymore. Considering what he and his family are, this should be considered the least "degrading" depiction of him yet.

  19. 19

Let him sue and make him give all the money to the Graziano family. He seems to have forgotten about them.

  20. 20

Why are you defending a corporation for stealing someone's likeness? The lawsuit seems legit.

  21. 21

Re: MissEvonne – Your post totally sums up the situation. I couldn't have said it better.

  22. 22

    Re: cindydeesam1 – agreed!

i do agree that post DID (obviously) take his name and all that and put it into a commercial. but as far as 'humiliating' him? it's JUST a fucking cartoon! wtf

  23. 23

"bulk boulder" is clearly a parody. No judge would hear this suit.

  24. 24

It's an obvious depiction of him, but not really worth a lawsuit.

  25. 25

Re: Lillibunny – LOL - maybe that'll be their defence. "But your honor, if you look at the hairline in exhibit A, you'll clearly see the difference."

And anyway, does he own the copyright? Back in the day, the WWF had to pay off Marvel for letting them use the word "Hulk", as they kinda had it first.

  26. 26

Plain and simple - he is hurting for cash, so this is the best opportunity for him to get a paycheck!

  27. 27

OMG seriously it is a kids cereal commercial. My 6 year old son watches the cartoon network and they played this over and over and he doesn't even know who Hulk Hogan is. I would totally understand if they play this on more adult viewing channels because he was well known back in the day. But I doubt most kids know who he is. Does he still even wrestle????

  28. DWG says – reply to this

i thought it was legal to parody someone. Terry just wants money

  29. 29

I think the Hulkster actually DID get the crap kicked out of him by Pebbles and Bam Bam at the first Wrestlemania.

  30. DWG says – reply to this

oh and he worked as Terry Boulder not Hulk Boulder

throw his ass to the curb!

  31. 31

Don't his lawyers know that "PARODIES" of celebs, TV shows, movies, etc… are ALLOWED! Get over yourself you f'ing crybaby, ego maniac…

  32. 32

Good Grief. i wish the only problems in life were cocoa pebbles using my likeness. it's a good thing he doesn't have to deal with cancer, a lost job, a foreclosed home, a child gone missing, gee. what a hardship that some cartoon character that doesn't even speak has muscles and blodne hair. poor hulk. life must be so tough.

  33. 33

    parody = no case

  34. 34

Re: cindydeesam1 – He has a right to. It does resemble him and they used an older name of his.

  35. DWG says – reply to this

Re: Starlit – it was not his name, he used Terry Boulder

  36. 36

He's just upset that he got his ass handed back to him by a toddler.

  37. 37

yes there is a small likeness but damn man after linda took his money and his sons legal fees and restitution to his victems family. no wonder he looking for any way he can to get money. GET OVER YOURSELF HOGAN and get on with your TNA company. this ad is aimed at young kids i guess thats all hogan can take on these days are little kids. he needs to move on with his life. its really sad he was once a role model and now he (hogan) is just a joke
