Shannen Doherty thinks that Nicole Scherzinger had a bit of an unfair advantage on Dancing with the Stars, you know with her being a professional performer and all!
She says:
"Nicole's an amazing dancer and singer. So it's hard to compete with that. Yeah, you know…whatever. In the long run, it's up to the fans. It's a bit of a mixed bag over there."
We wish that she got to stay on longer — she wasn't really even given a chance!

The show is called "Dancing with the Stars" not "Dancing with the Stars that can't dance." If it was about who grew the most - Chad or Erin would have taken it. However, anyone who watched the show can see that Nicole is obviously miles ahead of the rest. If we're going by the best dancer, you can't compare any to Nicole. And let's be honest - Evan and all the other skaters have advantages in a way too. Why does no one say anything about them? No one said anything about Lance Bass and other "dancers" on other seasons. And it's not like Nicole was an amazing dancer at the PCD shows … here she learned new styles. Do you really think she would Tango on one of her shows? I for one am glad that another Olympian didn't win … Shawn Johnson (who didn't deserve to win that season), Kristi Yamaguchi, Apollo Ohno. Last season, Mya should have won but it went to Donny (WTF). At least the best overall dancer won this season.
I hardly watch the show and I remember seeing that slag Nicole dancing on the show. THAT'S HER FUCKING JOB. And the clip I saw was her crying about people thinking she had an unfair advantage. Boo fucking hoo. She's a cheat and she knows it. What a joke.

I agree with her…. I shot that a side-eye when I heard she was on the show. Do I think that Nicole was the reason that Shannen got axed so early? No. Shannen sucked - though a good sport. But, I'm sure there was people who didn't really have a clue who Nicole really was (the older demographic), but saw this really pretty & really talented dancer and voted for her… I'm going to take a swing and say the "PCD-Nation" ain't THAT big….
Re: zooby – It doesn't matter if she will use tango in her performances or not. The fac of the matter is, she already danced in PCD. if you are a dancer, even if it is just the type of she does, it still gives her an advantage. she is able to pick up the routines faster and already knows how to move her body since it is a part of her job.
Yeah well the top 3 all had a ton of dance experience, especially Nicole, so yes she did have an unfair advantage. But they have to put some good dancers on the show- no one wants to watch crappy dancing week after week.

i agree with her. it would be more fair if they paired up stars that dance for a living with other dancers that dance for a living. then again, i don't think the show would be as entertaining if they only had dancers that danced like kate and shannen. can you imagine watching an hour of kate-like dancing? i still love you shannen and brenda MCKAY!!!

I think its makes no sense how they allow people who already dance an perform for a profession to join the show. Of course there going to do better then the rest of the cast especially when there football players or elderly. And just because they dance to a different style of music dosnet mean jack shit they still have rhythm and understand the art of dance. They have a advantage. Making the show unfair and well pointless. And none of the people are ever stars change the name to dancing with dancers.

… Um, aren't they all professional performers in one way or another? They're all actors or singers or athletes of some sort. All of them perform for a living, and whether or not it's dancing, they still perform. The actors should know how to perform on stage with their facial and body expressions just as they would on TV or in a movie. The singers should know how to commend the stage and grab in their audience just as they would in a concert. And the athletes should have strength, endurance, and muscle tone just as they would for the Olympics. So really, they all have "advantages" in one way or another. Nicole wasn't cheating by being a professional performer because they ALL are professional performers.

Shannen was really good in the few instances we got to see her dance! -and she proved last night that deserved to stay longer than she did. Yeah, Nicole did have an advantage, but at least she was a pleasure to watch, as was every one else in the cast, EXCEPT that horrible interpretation of modern motherhood: that Gosselin TRAIN WRECK… that monstrosity was the one who robbed Shannen (and several other more deserving dancers) of a chance to shine.

Of course she had an advantage! It doesn't matter that she never danced those specific types of dances before, she had the history of dance behind her. Yeah, she is an amazing dancer, but the rest of the competitors had no chance against her! And it doesn't help that she was paired up with the best male professional dancer. I say it was rigged from the beginning.

Yeah, I thought it was weird that they had a "star" and they use the term loosely around there, who was a professional dancer and who majored in dance in college. The judges kept going on and on and on about how good she was. Well, of course she was good! She's a professional dancer. Weird. And I thought her excitement on being announced the winner went a little overboard, in light of what she actually won. It was just disappointing. Maybe next time, they won't have a ringer.

"dancing with the dancers" for sure! the premise of the show when it first came on was to take celebrities who were not known for their dancing skills, make them uncomfortable for a while and mold them into something good. how is it a legitimate competition when you pit professional singer/dancers (nicole's a borderline stripper!) against people like neicy nash and jerry springer?? this show is a sham. just like idol, it's a damn popularity contest.
I don't give a shit about this show but I was discussing this topic with someone. Both of the final two were indeed professionals. A dancer and an ice skater. Why not rename this show Dancing with the Dancers? The final two had a clear advantage over the others.

Re: zooby – Perfectly said! I was wondering the same thing…nobody says anything about Evan's experience as a skater, which shares some of the same techniques as dance. And yeah, many of the other stars had experience too, this season and prior seasons included. Erin even took dance lessons as a child. Joey Fatone and Lance Bass were basically on the same level as Nicole as far as dancing with a group of SINGERS! Neither of those guys won. DESPITE what people say, Nicole is NOT a professional dancer, she is a professional SINGER who does some hip-hop steps while singing.

I'm sure she had to put the time, sweat, practice to look good on the floor. Seriously, if all the celebrities suck like like Doherty, if would be awful to watch week after week. At least Nicole can dance and make it look like a competition. If antyhing they should put more stars with dancing experience on the show to make better. If it was a competition about dance, then SD would have stayed longer. But, it's about popularity - and that sucks. I would have rather watched SD for weeks instead of Kate Gosselin. That was painful and I wanted to ditch the whole show.

I agree!! I understand that she does not have ballroom dancing under her belt but it is very unfair! And this is proven every year if you watch so you think you can dance. They get all types of dancers to go out of their comfort zones and learn different styles and most of the time the do great!!I thought the whole point of dancing with the stars was to enjoy non dancers learn how to dance.

Nicole is a performer. She dances on stage. Especially the moves they do, and often choreography includes all six (or is it five?) members of PCD doing the same moves and hitting those moves at the same time?
Ballroom dancing is different, but not harder, for someone who already has to learn moves like that for their career. Plus, dancing in sync with a single partner after having to get in step with 4 or 5 others? Piece of cake!

OK, well there have been a ton of "performers" on the show in the past. Drew Lachey, Mya, Aaron Carter, Joey MacIntyre, Mario Lopez, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, Mel B, Kristi Yamaguchi, AND Evan Lysacek (yes, if you didn't notice he is a performer). I don't understand what you people want to see, a bunch of Kate Gosslins??? I for one would not watch this show if I had to watch a bunch of those every week. Give Nicole a break, she totally deserved to win whether or not she is a "performer", she worked he butt off for 10 weeks!

I normally would never stick up for anything Shannen had to say but I agree with her on this one. There has to be a line drawn somewhere when it comes to this show. Either have all dancer/athletic types compete against each other or a whole cast full of Shannen's, Kate's and Buzz's.
This show still proved challenging for the professional athletes , let alone performers like nicole. I suppose they have an unfair advantage too.The girls got rhythm,and votes don't lie,otherwise pam anderson wud have been on alot longer.
