Thankfully, Christina Aguilera - or whoever convinced her - was smart enough NOT to perform Not Myself Tonight, the underperforming lead single off her upcoming album, and she didn't perform the equally uninspired second single, Woo Hoo, either.
Instead, Clonetina sang a new ballad (pretty but nowhere near as good as her classic Beautiful).
By putting the emphasis on her voice, though, Aguilera hit a homerun.

Just beautiful, true, authentic. She has a one of a kind voice and doesn't need to use sex, prompts, costumes, etc. to sell her music. The Greats: Streisand, Houston, Dion never had to go the way of madonna or gaga….their voices stood on their own.

Christina has more talent then many people do in this music industry. I am not a fan of her music, but her voice is that of legends. I am positive that at times you have people typing out these stories for you. STUNNING…that's all I can say. The soung was neo-soul at it's finest and could have been on Amy Whinehouse's Back to Black… I can see the Sia influence in her voice (since they wrote the song together) b/c her vocals were toned down and she sounded better by doing that. Christina Aguilera is simply the greatest live singer in the world today now that Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey are no longer what they used to be. That was a goosebumps good performance. Perez needs to get off her ass b/c she'd blow GaGa off the stage!
This is what Christina does best and she should really stick to it. There are only a handful that can pull off this kind of quality. Awesome! And as for you Perez, why don't you just fuck off.
