James McAvoy Joins X-Men: First Class
James McAvoy has signed on for the latest in the X-Men franchise, but without usual director Bryan Singer.
Matthew Vaughn will direct X-Men: First Class and McAvoy will play a young Xavier (aka Professor X). The movie follows Xavier and Erik Lensherr (aka Magneto) as they begin to discover their powers and before they become archenemies.
The two begin working together to stop a global threat, yet it leads to the feud between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.
Production will begin this summer in London and will be released June 3, 2011.
Can't wait to see it!

There is something so good about this franchise that I wish they made a movie every year. Although, like the Wolverine movie, I don't see many, if any, of the original 3 movies coming back. I take it the 3rd movie was the last of that cast? Shame, I thought it had alot of life left in it.

Re: karumba – Singer was supposed to be the director of this X-Men prequel. He was officially announced till Warner reminded him of a contract to do another movie. Warner, again. But Singer in n consideration to do X-Men 4 and/or Wolverine 2.
