More Ninja Turtles news.

Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon have signed on Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form to produce Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a reboot of the live action film series launched by New Line back in 1990.

Last October Nickelodeon acquired the global rights to the entire Turtles franchise for $60 million.

If Michale Bay weren't attached to it, maybe. I see a lot of explosions and hot chicks (hooking up with turtles…?)

  4. 4

No wayy…they're remaking everything!! I'm curious about it but some movies should stay in the 90's. I'm not sure about Michael Bay either…just glad he's not ”directing” it!

  14. 14

only, and i repeat..ONLY if they go back to the roots of the turtles…ditch the cowabunga and pizza crap…go back to what made them great in the first place…the original underground comics by Eastman and Laird. they were violent parody's of Frank Miller's work, and they were genius….

  15. 15

yeah! i loved TMNT when I was a kid!

  16. 16

OMG… really??? with Michael Bay??? I guess, tho its going to be hard to picture the Ninja Turtles in a high speed chase with big explosions but I guess we will have to wait and see. hope its good

Those poor effing turtles. Picture Bay yelling at them to lose 10 - 15 lbs. before they even start filming. I LIKE the green thunder thighs on the TMNT, but they'll probably have to go get a spray tan.

    uhhhh YEA!!!!!

  20. 20

Oh geez… anyone but Michael Bay… please!

  21. 21

The last TMNT looked pretty good, they should stick to animation. Remember what happened the LAST time they made it live action? It looked like Power Rangers. I can't wait to see ebonics Michaelangelo…

Michael Bay needs to GTFO , so does J.J. Abrams.

Michael Bay is the kiss of death when it comes to classic films. He's killed A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Transformers, Texas Chainsaw, Amityville Horror and all the other horrendous shit he's put out there. When is someone gonna take his camera away, and remove his rights to film making. What he produces is a crime, and really, I beleive he should be stopped. In my opinion, the worst director/producer out there. What really shameful is that people go see his movies, not because they are good, but because they are hyped. 2 weeks after the films open, the attendance is like nil. I for one refuse to pay for any of his movies. He doesnt deserve a dime from anyone.

I promise you, TMNT will be another disaster, as was Nightmare, and Friday. Michael Bay, leave the classics alone. Have some originality for petes sake. You are only a hack!

For those who were kids in the 90s, this could be the best movie ever made IF Michael Bay makes it tongue-and-cheek postmodern/campy. E.g. have it take place in the 90s or at least use a 90s soundtrack, cross-reference lots of other 90s comics or kids movies, etc. Unfortunately, though, we're not really Michael Bay's target audience. Not unlike the priest down the street, Michael Bay's only out to please the 8-year-old boys of today.

  25. 25

At least this time Bay will be responsible for something that is actually supposed to appeal to 7-year-olds.

  26. 26

yes yes Yes!! Only remake or redo I would watch!

  27. 27

man, i would love it!! and i know my son would love it. theres nothing wrong with remaking TMNT, bring it on.

Its a good franchise - and something the whole family can enjoy without boring/numbing the grown ups too much.
