Dennis Hopper Has Passed Away

Dennis Hopper passed away Saturday morning after a long and grueling battle with prostate cancer.

The 74-year-old actor died at his home in Venice, CA surrounded by friends and family.

He is survived by his four children.

So sad.

Let's not bash the ex, because we don't know the back story. Many couples squabble, and they do have a child together.
Dennis was the son of a farmer and grew up in Kansas. Through will, determination and much effort, he made it in Hollywood as an actor.
I have to wonder if all the recent activity (awards, helping prepare a new photography exhibit) were too much of a strain for an elderly man in fragile health.

I met him 22 years ago in the parking lot of Lion's Gate Studios. He was so kind and disarming — not what I expected at all. I was struck with how polite and soft spoken he was that afternoon. I walked away thinking, "Wow, so charming!" He made my day! RIP you silver fox

I don't know. This guy had and has a really bad rep in Hollywood. Apparently in Blue Velvet he called up the guy in charge and said he HAD to play Frank Booth b/c he WAS Frank Booth. Who knows the truth though. I do think it's hypocritical how people eulogize the dead even if they were wretched people in life.
