Avenue Q Creator Modifies Show In Coleman's Memory

In light of Gary Coleman's tragic death, the creator of Avenue Q, Jeff Marx, has told sources that there will be changes to the show's script in honor of the actor.

The show has taken a jab or two at Gary over the years, having named one of their characters after the late actor. Because the entire team felt "inspired" by Gary and his work, Jeff revealed that some of the lines in the Avenue Q script will now be altered, as them seem "inappropriate" to Gary's memory. Jeff added:

“It’s a very sad day for all of us and we’re really sorry to hear this. We all were inspired by him for many, many years.”

We're sure Gary was a good sport for all those years, but we bet wherever he is now, he appreciates the changes.

What happened to respecting people while they are ALIVE… it's always too little, too late… same thing when people come out of nowhere when someone (especially someone famous) dies, saying how they wish they had kept on touch… or what about Perez, who spews complete vitriol and then pretends like it never happened when the person passed away.. I understand the point of his website… in that part of it is a commentary on celebrities… but then don't try to pretend like you actually care and respect the person when they die…

It's so wrong to have written and performed what they did at all! Why didn't Coleman sue them while he was alive? And are they doing this simply to avoid a lawsuit now that he's dead? I highly doubt it's out of respect.

AGREED! And what's worse, in this story, Pervez is speaking for the dead!! I hope some of those dead tap dance on his fucking nuts at night!

He did sue them but lost. He never appreciated being included in it.

SHouldn't it be the other way around? SHouldn't you respect people while they are alive? What good does this do now that he's dead? They demeaned him while he was alive!

Why are they changing the lines *now* they dont give a shit about him or feel inspired. They just dont want to look like a group of shit heads. Too late, and quit using his death as a means for more publicity for your lame show!
