Adam Lambert is suggesting to fans that rather than buy him gifts or send him flowers before concerts and events, he would like to see his fans' money go to a better cause: charity.
He tweeted out the idea, posting:
"Instead of giving me gifts, why not donate 2 donorschoose.org or other charity in my name? U can print a reciept 4 me and personalize it."
Good idea! So thoughtful!
Later, he tweeted again thanking his fans for the positive response to the idea, as many tweeted him back pledging their help!
Loves it! Hope this keeps going throughout his whole tour! Imagine all the good that could get done!

I will be attending Adams show in AC, NJ and I will most definatly donate to doners choose for Adam. His fans have already raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to this charity and Im sure after this tour is over with, that number will increase significantly. Adam is a class act.

This is awesome! I'm a teacher who uses donorschoose.org to fund my classroom projects. I work in a very poor school district and the donations have given my students so much, from basic supplies and enrichment materials. Kudos to Adam and his fans for supporting such an amazing organization!

@texasbadboy, not that you'll care but Adam is playing in venues ranging in size from approximately 700 to I believe one event that is close to 10K. over half his dates are already sold out too. His album was gold before he ever appeared on idol and his single was nearly platinum without idol as well so not sure how that's riding idol's coattails.
Adam did the same thing during the idol tour. He asked fans to use their energy to help kids in need. He's a generous and giving person, just like so many of the artists they find on idol it seems.

okay ummm not to sound like a buzzkill but if you make charitable donations in his name he gets the tax break, why not encourage fans to just make donations in their own name and send him a copy of the receipt all done up like fan mail, then hes still spreading charity when he knows its easier for a celebrity to pay their taxes than middle or lower class people… jussssst ssayyyiing.

He always got the most gifts (way too many for anyone to handle) even before his AI audition when people went batsh*t crazy, all the way back since his Wicked, The Citizen Vein, and Zodiac days. But during the Summer Tour, they trippled like mad for some reason. So he got in contact with a Public TRUSTWORTHY Charity called DonorsChoose and told his fans to direct their love to them instead. They raised $311,910 for kids and it's still forever open. It's a great charity. They deliver everything firsthand and he went to visit their schools as well to see everything reaching the kids, who btw where so sweet and grateful. He just has a GOOD heart and soul as ex-bigot Sarver said. Even after the concerts last year Lambo threw his own jewelry into the crowd just as a token of giving back the love. The Burning Man Festival taught him a lot about giving back to the Universe and world.

Adan Lambert is one of the good guys! My husband Doug got my daughter, Betsy (age 13, she has Spinal Muscular Atrophy and is in a wheelchair) backstage at the Idol's tour last summer. He said that as soon as Adam saw Betsy, he made a beeline for her to sign her program and pose for a picture.
