M.I.A. Continues To Unleash On NYT Magazine Reporter, Premieres New Track!

| Filed under: Music MinuteCelebrity FeudsPolitikM.I.A.

She really is not letting this one go, is she?!

M.I.A. is still seriously PISSED OFF about an interview she did with New York Times Magazine reporter Lynn Hirschberg, in which she feels falsely represented, so she not only took to her website to post an audio recording of the two together to clear up what was actually said, but also wrote, mixed and performed a BRAND NEW TRACK about the entire situation!

Wow! She pulled that one together pretty quickly, don't you think??

Apparently, M.I.A. ACTUALLY was recorded saying:

"It wasn't just about me, and me getting to the Oscars or me going to the Grammy's. That doesn't mean anything, the whole point of that journey was so you can go, hey, 50,000 people are going to die next month. Here's your opportunity to help and no one did, and they still died! It wasn't about accolades or fame."

"Oh yeah, I understand."

She also released a brand-new track in direct response Hirschberg, called I'm A Singer Haters!

Too bad it SUCKS! Doesn't really help your plight now, does it, bb??

Take a listen BELOW!

  3. 3

courtney already did it… and already did it better.

  4. 4

    i'm confused.

  5. 5

she seems like such a child.

  6. 6

Uh oh! Watch out MIA, Perez Hilton doesn't like your song!

Do you really think you're a music critic now Perez? MIA is a righteous artist with a REAL message about shit that MATTERS. What kind of music do you listen to? It's all wishy-washy bullshit made to please the masses and make money. Gaga, Brit-Brit, and that little Bieber kid… You hold absolutely NO credibility.

  7. 7

Ok now who is the person? Never seen or heard of her before?
What were they even talking about?

  8. 8

Actually it is ap retty good song. Very dubstep, although I hate dubstep. And she proved that chick wrong with her posting of what was actually said.

You just are mad because she called out GaGa and it is so transparent. You are pretty transparent actually.

  9. 9

    This is a remix of the U.K's grime artist Wiley's track, I'm a sinner….GHETTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  10. 10

She's a mouthpiece, fronting a political activist, who puts out his agenda through shitty Milli Vanilli music. I'm not saying some of it's not catchy, because it is. Still, they need to go away. Times are tough in America, what do they expect us to do about fucking Sri Lanka right now? It just all sounds like hatred from here. Static no one needs. Entertain us or get off the fucking stage, please. Missing In Action is right.

  11. 11

    MIA needs to grow up.

  12. 12

    song sux like HELL.

    Really nice song!!

  14. 14

Oh Please, she can claim anything she wants, but she gave out the guys phone number. She's just another psycho bitch. She probably also jumps through drive through windows to attack people who don't get her order right.

  15. 15

She is so immature Im amazed she's someone's mother! The whole putting that chicks number on her tweeter was complete bullshit! Who does that besides little girls in middle school? Get your shit togeather girl!

  16. 16

You obviously would be on MIA's side if she hadn't said that stuff about GaGa recently. This is your lowest point, I think.

  17. 17

DAMN!!!!!! THAT SONG IS SICK!! love it. shit perez, it seems like the only music you like is bubble gum that has been shoved up your ass. Honestly though i would not expect u to have great musical taste.

  18. 18

    sick song…finally one I like!

  19. 19

This Bitch really needs to go somewhere !

  20. 20

    Re: timetime

MIA is *NOT* perez's artist. come the fuck on. does she sound like boyband pop bullshit? no? then not perez's.

  21. 21

    Much better than Gaga's stuffs!!!

  22. 22

    I can't stand M.I.A. She's annoying.

  23. 23

    I like it…

  24. 24

People don't like MIA cuz she speaks her mind and she calls people out for what they are… I say more power to her and all that have real balls to speak the truth.

  25. 25

Idiot. What a frigging idiot. If you do not want people to publish what you say, then shut up you flaming retard.

  26. 26

i love the lyrics her voice and the whole thing ! perfect

  27. 27

Is that fucking Natalie from the Bad Girl Club? ha ha ha ha

Re: ImOldGreg – Have you actually listened to her lyrics? She's insane and radical and does not distribute a REAL message what-so-ever. LISTEN next time instead of going along with the bandwagon. The bitch is crazy. Cookoo!

  29. 29

    She needs a nose job

  30. 30

  31. 31

I love when revolutionaries live in Brentwood.

  32. 32

lyrics great, vocals are kinda cool ahh i dont know its kinda cool actually. isnt it totally cool that she is standing behind her believes and tellin the truth instead of talkin bullshit or singing songs with lyrics like "(Eh, Eh) There’s nothing else I can say
(Eh, Eh) I wish you never looked at me that way
(Eh, Eh) There’s nothing else I can say
    (Eh, Eh)"?!
hahah but suuure since you think lyrics like these are "epic" you wouldn`t understand anything that goes deeper.
i really like you perez but you`ve got to stop posting brainwashing shit on this side!!

  33. 33

Great song Great artist!! Love her work and the message she sends out.

  34. 34

hahahaha!! That song is fucking shitty as hell

  35. 35

M.I.A. Sings the truth and Pigs like Perez and his followers can't except that! SAD!! This world is scary, its a scary place, and all M.I.A. is trying to do is high-light it in order that hopefully people will wake up and understand and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! M.I.A. is an Artist! You can't fault that! Listen to the chorus properly and get back to the thought whether you think it's a BAD song, cos qutie frankly i think it's beautiful. listen closely. MALE PAUS did a song about the negative attention GAY people get and got no recognition for it and it was a good tune too!!!

  36. 36

i have no idea who this is. you talk as if shes some big deal but no one seems to have a clue who she is, what this fight is supposed to be about or what that interview quote is referring to.

  37. 37

She should have left well/bad enough alone. While she does come off looking like a hypocrite and a poseur, there were actually a few endearing moments and it would have all blown over if she had kept her mouth shut, as no one really cares. I think she is just trying to stir up some publicity for herself.

  38. 38

low-life hypocrite living in Brentwood….enough said

  39. 39

    just keeping it real

DID reporter Hirschberg misrepresent MIA to squeeze out a better story?
I'm going to check it out. If that's what actually happened, I'll salute M.I.A.'s gutsy payback moves. Twisted representations happen a lot these days. The pen is mightier than the sword, and can cause a lot of damage if not wielded properly.

  41. 41

    i like da song

  42. SMack says – reply to this

this song has a good message.. MIA is speaking out against this government bullshit.. i wouldn't expect you to understand perez.. you're probably part of that whole illuminati gang along with lady gaga and rihanna..

  43. 43

Re: @v@ – I read this article, it was in The New York Times, not The National Enquirer. M.I.A. probably just didn't like the way the story was edited. And since she's 34 not 12, she's a bit old to be behaving like a spiteful child.

  44. 44

    This is childish act!

  45. SS18 says – reply to this

    Fucking horrible artist…

  46. 46

The song does not suck. Let people form their own opinions on shit fuck face

  47. 47

Okay, this song is great. If anything sucks it is that bullshit Travis Garland you are peddling.

  48. 48

you are annoying as all shit. for someone that copies/pastes articles from huffpost you are conveniently leaving out the recent post of M.I.A leaking tapes from that bogus interview i.e., the journalist coaxing her into ordering truffle french fries, as well as taking her grammy quote grossly out of context. you're just pissy that M.I.A trashes lady gaga.

you're a shameless self-promoter that tweaks the media to meet your own self interest.

Re: Indigo – She's 34 !?! I truly thought she was a rebellious young 'un. WTH. I guess she gets her kicks from controversy. If she's 34, she should insist on contractual approval before an interview goes to print, or no interview. Releasing contact info on the reporter was a gutter move regardless.

Re: Indigo – Not that the Times is squeaky clean and above fudging for punch, believe me.

  51. 51

Re: @v@ – I am guessing that the New York Times reporter was polite with M.I.A. during the interview, but wrote a piece that was critical of her and the contradiction between her political statements and her lavish lifestyle. If she doesn't like this, TOO BAD! And if she thinks that a reporter is or should be on her side, she is very naive!

  52. 52

Sorry Perezzles, but this track BUMPS! I've always thought M.I.A. was unique and intelligent. Not everyone is going to love your Gagaloo. Don't be a hater ;)

  53. 53

    I Love M.I.A. I>A>!!
