ThunderCats Coming Back To TV!

This sounds like a MUCH better idea than a film adaptation!

The best '80s cartoon of all-time, ThunderCats, is getting a modern day, cartoon reimagining, set to air on the Cartoon Network in 2011!

Warner Bros. Animation's Sam Register says:

“In addition to being Warner Bros. Animation’s first anime series, ThunderCats marks our most ambitious foray yet into fantasy. The realism and dynamic visual style we’ve achieved are sure to thrill viewers, and the cool weapons, vehicles and technology should help the show appeal to a diverse audience.”

The story will follow our most beloved Lion-O as he ascends the throne and is a "sweeping tale combining swords and science and boasting ferocious battles with the highest of stakes."

The rest of the statement reads:

"As the forces of good and evil battle each other in the quest for the fabled Stones of Power, Lion-O and his champions learn valuable lessons of loyalty, honor and mortality in every episode.”

We usually hate these shiteous remakes, but we have a good feeling about ThunderCats! It's just what this generation's batch of kiddies needs!

Thoughts??

Awesome. when I was a little kid I used to watch thundercats. Then, when I was in high school I used to get stoned after school and watch the reruns of it when it was on cartoon network. Hopefully at least once (since im not a teenager anymore) i will get to do that again to this new version. Looking forward to checking this out.

This makes me sad. Just recently one of the original writers, Stephen J. Perry, was murdered in Zephyrhills, FL. Before his death he had hit hard times.

    Remakes are BS!
This is gonna be crap. Same thing they did with He-Man a few years ago.
Will there ever be an idea in the future instead of "remakes"?

  17. 17

    Yes! now bring robotech

I think it could be alright. Modernizing the characters, get a good staff – storyboarders/writers/directors – guys who know what they are doing. I think it could be awesome. Or crap, honestly. It just depends on the team. I’m hoping for the best though.

If it's made in the US, it ain't anime. This is already going to look like crap. *Facepalm*
