Conan's New Show Means Big Ad Money For TBS!

Wow!

Conan O'Brien's new TBS show is hoping to get NBC's late-night rate from advertisers, potentially making it the first cable show to be on par with broadcast TV advertising.

One media buyer revealed that TBS is asking for rates that are 20 to 25 percent higher than the typical rates for late-night. "It's insanity," the buyer said. "He's a high priced property they clearly overpaid for."

We have a feeling advertisers may bite though — Conan's popularity is really soaring!

Are U planning to watch his new show on TBS?

Yes… the 3,000 seat theatre's he's filling really mean his popularity is soaring.
Dane Cook does a massive arena tour and his movies are all huge bombs.
Conan will get the same audience he did before.. but this time even smaller as it won't have the "Tonight Show" history. He'll see 1-2 million maybe.. half of what the other guys are doing if that. That's just to start also.. at 11pm instead of 11:30, 12:30am he will even be less funny.

The later the show the more you laugh it seems (excluding Carson Daly) because your tired. Try watching some of those shows mid afternoon. Not all that funny. Especially Conan's goofy repetitive schtick.

I definitely won't be watching the crybaby on his new show. He complains about having to wait five years for The Tonight Show. And what was he doing while he waited? Was he living in a refrigerator box? No. He was earning at least $100 million while appearing on network television every night. Wah wah.

Diffinitely NOT. I wouldn't give up Chelsey Lately for Conan. She's alot funnier.

Conan's popularity is soaring?! He will fail again. He can then retire and cry in his money.

    11. 11

      NO!

I disagree with many other commenters, one of the main reasons Conan O'Brien was booted off of The Tonight Show, was because Jay Leno was not doing well at a ten o'clock spot. He had much worse ratings than Conan did, however Jay was a greater financial loss to NBC. Conan was not worse in this spot, he was actually better than his previous slot. He didn't whine and cry about the money, a contract was broken through things he had no control over. Anyone with a contract that big that was broken would want more than just 7 months of pay. It dosn't matter if any of you don't want to watch him, I just had to set the record straight.

On a side note, I think he is incredible, and I will be watching him :D

    17. 17

      nobody will watch

    18. 18

TOO MANIC FOR ME . WHINNING . REVENGEFUL. TAKING LOPEZ AND THROWING HIM BACK AN HOUR DOING WHAT HE SAID HE WOULD NEVER DO ..TIME WILL TELL. YOU THINK HE'LL GET GREAT RATINGS? I DONT.

    19. 19

      love conan. :D

I'll watch. And I'll probably buy whatever he advertises just to piss off his old network.
