Laura Ling Has A Baby!

What a wonderful gift after such a difficult year!

Laura Ling, who, along with fellow journalist Euna Lee, was held in government captivity in North Korea for five months, has given birth to a daughter with husband Iain Clayton named Li Jefferson Clayton!

Ling reportedly gave her new baby the middle name Jefferson as a tribute to former President Bill (Jefferson) Clinton, who was instrumental in securing her freedom!

Absolutely lovely!

We're so thrilled that everyone is safe and sound! Congratulations to the happy new family!

We all descend from a common ancestor whether you believe it's Adam & Eve, an African tribe or little green men. We are all human beings, h.sapiens. It's not like a lizard and an eagle trying to mate. We all should all marry or propagate with people the look like us…why…just because? Because their recent ancestors lived in areas geographically or politically separate from one another? Re: OppaNuna – I love people that hate other people based on stereotypes. I say this because I think that this -love- is what they are lacking. It is usually the case, despite what they may say, that when they direct their hatred toward a particular group of people they in some way feel threatened by or jealous of this group. The only other explanation could be that this prejudice discriminatory behavior has been learned from their parents/family or peers from a relatively young age. We are not born with hatefulness. Even if these assumptions about others are true what good does it do for us to foster and perpetuate malice?

That they were unable to be educated or civilized. This is obviously not true. People, regardless of their ancestors, behave in different ways. This is mostly shaped by their experiences through life. People that are negative and hateful often had people treat them poorly at some point. Just like people that are insecure about their natural physical appearance wear lots of make-up, fake hair, and low cut tops. If the behavior of Asian women bothers you, why don't you do something positive about it? Perhaps encourage them, show them that they are beautiful human beings and that they don't need a husband of a particular race to validate them. That they can marry whom ever the wish regardless of race. If you don’t care… then who cares, why bother lament about it. No one wants to be put into a box or discriminated against simply based on their appearance. Accepting any kind of prejudice and publicly expressing approval for it only perpetuates all forms of discrimination.

Honestly, who the fuck cares? She's only famous because she was held captive in a country in which she knew full well that if she got caught, they were going to imprison her. The idiot got caught and the world was pleading for her and that other chick's release. She should have never been there to begin with. And now, we have to celebrate that she's given birth? Hopefully her kid isn't as stupid as she is and stays out of areas in which Western members of the media aren't welcomed……
