The Sydney Opera House is going to the dogs.
Lou Reed and his composer wife, Laurie Anderson, will be holding a high frequency 20-minute recital for dogs and their "human companions" in Australia later this week.
Sound kind of silly? Well, then you obviously don't see the BEAUTY of doting on your pup for an evening!
The ad for the event says it all:
"Laurie Anderson has composed a 20 minute work especially for the hearing range of dogs – who can hear frequencies far outside the human audio spectrum. Taking the idea of the apparently inaudible dog whistle to new artistic heights, our canine friends will be treated to a glorious cacophony of sound, while all we will hear is the lapping of the water on the harbor.
The morning will be an inter-species social gathering on a scale never seen before in Australia. Breakfast can be purchased on site including freshly brewed coffee and egg & bacon rolls, while you watch dog demonstrations and be surprised by some very special guests.
This is an event that you’ll be yapping about for years to come, an absolute must for any dog and their two legged friends!"

I still can't get past the part that lou reed is married to a woman. I could have sworn that he was gay not bi. Hmm you learn something new everyday. He was warhols side kick for quite some time. Love him though with the velvet underground.
Um, NO I would not treat my dogs to sounds they never hear for 20 minutes while I sit and listen to nothing. This is just bizarre. I have to agree, put your energy into something USEFUL.
This is a very creative idea, and I hope the guests have a lot of fun. Who knows, maybe some singles will make a new friend there.
I love Laurie and Lou, but I kinda wished they had created something we ALL could listen to.
