Carrie Fisher To Be The Subject Of HBO Documentary

| Filed under: TV NewsFilm FlickersSuper Seniors

Oh, we like the sound of this!

Princess Leia Carrie Fisher's one woman show about her battle with substance abuse, Wishful Drinking, is being adapted as a documentary for HBO!

The project is apparently produced by World of Wonder, and will take scenes of the actress performing the stage production and cut them between archive footage from her life and interviews with family and friends!

We LOVE her, so we definitely think it should be an interesting watch!

What do U think?? Will U watch a documentary about Carrie Fisher??

i'm pretty disapointed that she is doing this.

  3. 3

I'd only watch it if I knew for sure she'd be demonstrating how to do a wine enema.

  4. 4

    the force is with her

I like her ok enough, but really! There's really nothing that special about her. At all. She's the child of famous parents, she had "substance issues" and she has some limited success mostly because she is the child of famous parents.

There is nothing special enough about her in her own world, to make me interested in seeing this. HBO should spend their money on better stuff. If they did a documentary about Liza Minelli, I would be there. Liza would be a hoot!

A better question would be, "Who the fuck is Carrie Fisher?".

all she's talked about for the last twenty years is her substance abuse. she's written books about it. she's not a great actor she just has friends or put her in roles so why do we have to endure more? why can't she just do a short ad for weightwatchers.

I am sooo happy this project is happening! I sadly missed seeing this on Broadway — can't wait to see it on HMO. Carrie is so witty and lets "a smile (a wicked wit) be her UMBRELLA!"

She is a brilliant writer and I will watch or read anything that she is involved in. She cracks me up.

I remember when she criticized her father, Eddie Fisher, for talking about his wives in his book. She's done nothing but pimp her life for years. She's not done anything interesting in over 30 years, so NO, I won't watch it.

She presents her warped humor in a bent, but charming way. It works because she talks about what she knows.

    Love her!

I don't know. Will she be wearing a gold bikini?

I used to be a huge fan of Carrie Fisher until I saw this show for myself on stage. I actually asked for my money back and I wasn't the only one.
She wore a bathrobe and slippers, came out to the stage where a comfy chair sat and next to that was a GIGANTIC BIG GULP cup of "whatever" (looked like coke) she slurped from every two minutes. On the back wall of the audience was projected her "script" and she constantly referred to it because she was so stupid and could not remember what she was talking about 30 seconds ago.
The show lasted less than an hour and I have to say, the first twenty minutes was full of her bitching about our town and how dehydrated she was. It was insulting to the audience. It wasn't a show, it wasn't entertaining - it was boorish and quite frankly, uncomfortable. We were led to believe it was going to be interesting and entertaining. Ultimately, I felt like I should have been paid to be there.

We all have drunks in our own families that we can watch whenever we want. Why does she think her drunken struggle is any different than anyone else's? Who would even want to watch a drunk? In fact, what has she even done in the last 30 years or so that would make her of any interest to us at all?

I remember how much like a Princess she looked like in the Star Wars movies. And now she's horrible. Let this be an object lesson in what will happen to you if you abuse drugs and alcohol. What a total tragedy. Well I know the World of Wonder company will interview anyone, even someone who's not a celebrity at all, like Phoebe Price for example. If they will stoop down that low, they really have no standards at all and they're desperate for material.

    i love her. she's wonderful.

That is one bitter fat dude!
