    Whay is it a "proud moment!" If it's "honorary" it means she didn't earn it. She neeeds to go back to school and earn her diploma. She also needfs to get clean and lose some weight and get herself on track. She has awesome talent, but she won't listen to anyone and she is a mess. When Oprah put her on Broadway in Color Purple, she even missed performances. She was really good when she showed up. Fantasia burned thru a lot of good will from people who could have helped launch her career. She is embarrassing.

    That was my graduation!! However, Im not sure that anyone was really impressed that she was there, considering how much crap she has said about High Point. But I guess now I can say "Fantasia was at my graduation" instead of "Fantasia dropped out of my high school."

    doesn't "honorary" mean it was given to her and not earned??? Like when celebs get "honorary" doctorate degrees from colleges because they've done humanitarian work or paid them lots of money..I.E. Bill Cosby has an "honorary" doctorate

    OFGS - an honorary HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA. Dude - go to school and get the real thing, so you can read and write. I've never laughed so hard in my life. How is she going to read the contracts, music, etc. Do it for reals!! You can't be that stoopid.

    okay, now I'm really bamboozled. If she has her GED then WTF does she need an honorary diploma for? It doesn't matter -a GED is NOT the same as a High School Diploma (just ask those of us who actually went to school for years). GED Students are not required to take traditional courses in order to earn their GED. The examinations take seven hours and five minutes cumulatively.

    So she took a wicked 7 hour test to obtain her GED. I bet she didn't learn to read and write in that short time. Geeezzzz…..

    Oh and get this. The GED is all multiple choice. So you can be totally mentally challenged and still pass — just pick and choose. I remember the good ol' days of essay's and stand up reports.

    Sorry Fantasia - you get an F in my class.

    She did a kick-ass job playing Celie, portraying a late to come out lesbian( which was in the book, but not the film) in the Color Purple which was better than the actress LaChanze who won the TONY Award. She also has petformed at LA Gay Pride.
