What IS your definition of "alternative" anyway? Because I know for damn sure Miley Cyrus does not qualify for alternative music in comparison to actual alternative bands. For example, The Foo Fighters, Green Day, Finger 11, INXS, Nirvana, The Killers… must I go on? Miley Cyrus is a pop artist, and no matter how hard she tries to be more edgy and more "rock", it's not going to change that.
And unfortunately, though I hate this little sellout slut who is a disgrace to my generation of music, I am practically forced to hear her songs everywhere. It's on the pop radio stations, which most of the stores I go to, and places I go (like school), tend to play on the radio. She is a mainstream artist, and most of us "haters" have had to suffer through that horrible voice of hers.
Since us "haters" are only forced to hear her mainstream shit, we don't know of her other songs and quite frankly, we don't want to. I leave the room whenever I can if I'm forced to hear more than 10 seconds of her. Hearing her whole CD… well, that would cause all my braincells to slowly deteriorate until I became a teeny pop zombie. No thanks.
