Toxicology Reports Are In For Deceased Avenged Sevenfold Rocker
As we mentioned late last year, Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, the 28-year-old drummer for Avenged Sevenfold, was found unresponsive in his Huntington Beach home at the end of December.
Police stated the death appeared to be of natural causes, but the toxicology reports are finally in.
Turns out Sullivan passed away from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs and alcohol.
The reports reveal he suffered an "acute polydrug intoxication due to combined effects of Oxycodone, Oxymorphone, Diazepam/Nordiazepam and ethanol."
The band's manager, Larry Jacobson, added during a recent Rolling Stones interview that:
"To all of us who loved Jimmy, the only thing relevant about December 28 is that is the night we lost, too soon, a son, brother, friend and one of the most talented artists in the world.
Every day, his parents and sisters, and his brothers in Avenged Sevenfold smile at the many memories they have of Jimmy and his fans around the world revel in the musical legacy he left them."

Why would someone mix pain meds and valium and think its not dangerous? Im sure he must have read about other celebs who have done that and seen the outcome! Its sad that someone so young is lost and that he didnt have someone looking out for him.
Saw the guys in concert- they were incredible- however, you do have to know that when you're mixing alcohol and pain killers something bad could happen… and it did.
Regardless of being someone family or not he's an idiot! If he wasn't an idiot he would never in a million years taken that combo of drugs with alcohol. If he was smart he would consult with his doctor about mixing drugs like that. If his doctor prescribed them to him for actual problems the doctor would have told him to not mix such and such and definitely not with alcohol, and more likely then not the pharmacist where he picked up his drugs would explain the drugs to him and there would have definitely been a sticker on the drugs saying not to mix with alcohol. It's obvious he was abusing drugs, and for that I don't feel bad for him. It's obvious he didn't value his life at all. When I see it says not to mix my anxiety pills with alcohol, guess what? I don't mix that shit, because I like living. Sad for his family and friends, not sad for him. You do stupid shit and die, you obviously deserved it.
Seems someone forgot to mention in this that he also had an enlarged heart, that probably contributed to his death also. Of course all people hear about are the drugs and alcohol.

I know for a fact one of my fave figure skaters, who was an olympic gold medalist, died at 28 because of an enlarged heart that was never properly treated or found for that matter.
I think unless you have been following the band since the beginning or are a true fan should you make useless comments.
To me it doesn't really matter how he died, the fact of the matter is that he passed away, and the metal community and the music world for that matter lost an amazing drummer whose talent far surpassed him.

when celebrities are on the road, they can't visit the same doctor. jimmy probably saw many doctors while touring and more often than many might think, one doctor may not look at the patients chart to see what other medications have already been prescribed to this patient by another doctor, therefore sometimes people are taking two medications at once that should not be mixed. so, chances are jimmy did not know that those drugs should not be mixed. and fr anyone who knows the rev knows he is going to drink. that was just him. he had such a wonderful personality and spirit and he is greatly missed by everyone that loved him. r.i.p. jimmy.

As do pharmacists. Also like I said pill bottles come with stickers that say do not take with alcohol. So, if that was just him to drink, then that was just him to die then…and yeah that is a shit load of drugs to be taking to accidentally overdoes. You're asked to list them all. A reputable doc wouldn'y prescribe oxycodone to someone taking oxymorphone (p.s. the body metabolizes x-codone into x-morphone so he may not have been taking both) Furthermore there ARE pharmacies with locations nationwide. They have computer systems & couls easily pull up his information if need be. Also the enlarged heart could very likely have the result of his lifestyle choices.

A lot of people seem to be assuming that Jimmy didn't need the pain medication when in fact I think they were prescribed because of his eye surgery (which was a week or so before his passing).
Anyway, I just want to say that when I first read this piece of news, I was in complete and utter shock. How could someone as amazing and incredible as The Rev die from an accident? Yes, he shouldn't have mixed alcohol with the drugs, but that does not mean that people can come on here and act like he deserved to die. If you don't care about Jimmy or appreciated his music, then that is fine. Although, just keep your opinions to yourself if you're going to say things that are completely ignorant and pointless! There are millions of people around the world who were devastated by this news and just because he was successful (which was because he worked hard, so don't you dare say that he doesn't deserve sympathy as he had a lucky life, as someone said earlier. He worked hard for his life) does not mean that we shouldn't care. This man's music has helped so many and has provided joy for many others as well, so this was an incredible loss.

Nevertheless, you cannot say that because in a way, many of us contribute to our deaths in some way. People smoke for years and die of lung failure, but they're mourned and respected. People drive cars and talk on the phone so that they're not paying enough attention to the road, but they're mourned and respected. My point is that yeah, Jimmy made a mistake but I still cry for him. I still miss him and wish he wasn't gone. I don't know how much his death was down to the alcohol or down to the enlarged heart and bad mixture of drugs but I do know that I don't really care. Re: herbert61 – an enlarged heart is sometimes a silent killer. It killed someone I knew who was perfectly healthly and had an active lifestyle. He just suddenly died one day, he had a massive heart attack because of the enlarged heart.
