Crazy!

Jive Records bosses are blocking an Outkast reunion on Big Boi's new album because they won't allow Andre 3000 to record with him!

Big Boi went to Def Jam after Jive told them they couldn't figure out how promote his new album, Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. Big Boi says:

"Jive Records told me my album is a piece of art, and they didn't know what to do with it. Jive is trying to block Dre from being on my record. We can't be on songs together now."

Super lame of Jive - get over it!

Record companies better figure out that the bigger artist don't need them anymore…just make the CD and market it directly to the consumers through they're website..and take out ad's…why do u need a 3rd party?

  4. 4

    why?

  5. 5

I think this directly relates to the death of the music industry article…

Sounds like these two could use some better lawyers. Ones who know how to negotiate favorable contracts.

  11. 11

jive records sucks!!! Which is why i am glad backstreet boys left thier butts. Backstreet boys also had some issues with jive records. Jive needs to get thier act together and realize they are going to lose thier best artists if they don't straighten up.

This isn't very business savvy. Arrange for a percentage of the Big Boi/Andre 3000 tune, or allow it, but get future consideration for a tune with a Def Jam artist singing with a Jive artist. The NHL trades for future consideration or a better spot in the player draft all the time. If a player isn't reaching his potential with one team, teams trade players. Rise above and make some money.
