So sad. We were looking forward to this, too!

The Go-Go's have cancelled their summer tour after Jane Wiedlin tore her ACL!

They released this note:

It is with great regret that the Go-Go’s announce today the cancellation of Happily Ever After, their summer farewell tour. The tour was scheduled to kick off July 7 at Lilith Fair San Diego, and conclude in Austin, TX on July 27. The band will also be unable to perform live on Good Morning America, scheduled for July 16 in New York’s Central Park.

The news comes as a result of guitarist Jane Wiedlin injuring herself after a 20-foot fall while hiking near her home in Northern California a couple of weeks ago. Jane is scheduled for ACL replacement surgery for her knee in the coming weeks, with a prognosis of up to a year recovery time.

The band is heartbroken and hopes their fans will send best wishes for Jane’s speedy recovery. In the meantime, tickets can be refunded at point of purchase.

Poor thing! Such an unfortunate set of circumstances!

We sincerely hope Jane recovers - keep your chin up, bb! We wish you only the best!

They should re-schedule after Jane heals.

Oh dear, surely Arizona is somehow to blame for this.

    Re: RedWingsFan

Hey Red! I like them okay but was never a huge fan. They had a couple of good songs that were not on the radio. Back in the 1980s, I was more into X, Black Flag, Social Distortion, Nina Hagen.

Re: Poindexter-X – yea I know what you mean about The go-go's.I didn't see Social Distortion but I did see the other bands you mentioned.Nina Hagen was such a kook!Back then i was more into "New Wave" than "hardcore "but that didn't stop me from seeing Black Flag or The Misfits.Did you ever see "The Cramps"?-Lux and those guys were fucking nuts!

Boo fucking hoo, I'm sure that somewhere their 5 remaining fans are crying their eyes out.

Sounds like Karma for getting into politics on things they don't know what they're talking about. She was probably running from some AZ cop that checked her "papers".

sounds like a lame excuse cause they suck now & no one wants to see them anyway.

    Re: RedWingsFan

Yeah, I saw The Cramps a number of times. I loved them! I also saw Agent Orange, Suicidal Tendencies, Joan Jett (lots of times), early Bangles (before all that Manic Monday crap when they were a cool 1960's-type garage band), The Pandoras, Redd Cross, Lita Ford (before she became too commercial), etc. Yeah, Nina Hagen was a trip!! LOL
