It's Official! Breaking Dawn To Be Split Into Two Films

Eclipse is right around the corner, but The Twilight Saga has no end in sight.
After months and months of speculation and one major salary dispute, Summit Entertainment announced last night that the final installment of The Twilight Saga is getting the Harry Potter treatment.
Breaking Dawn will split into two movies, the first arriving in theaters November 2011.
Both installments will be directed by Bill Condon!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has a ton of very specific plot points and events that reveal things from the entire series and requires more film time. Whereas if you just cut out some of the excess lovey-dovey/stalker staring from Breaking Dawn, you could fit it into one movie.
This Twilight phase needs to end. I was fine with it at first, but it's just ridiculous now.

No, I'm not excited. They're drawing out the series to get more money from all the teenager's parents and it's annoying. Robert doesn't like what he's doing and Kristen is the worst actress I've ever seen.
They're copying a REAL franchise (Harry Potter) which has REAL actors and a well thought out and well written plot.
They know that their popularity is almost up and I am seriously counting the days until I can stop hearing about this waste of time, space, and money.
this is just like high school musical which was undeniably huge as well. and rob and kristin are both very lucky to have being on this bandwagon. i think rob is an up his own arse twat (i really like kristin) but there's no denying that this whole thing has proved very lucrative indeed for the actors involved. they're both riding a wave of success at them moment and enjoying themselves but i just snob ratterson will dump kirsty for a new piece of ass soon enough. poor girl, i can see she realy loves him.hmm..wonder if taylor will pull an ashley tisdale and play a vampire till he's 25 due to no other offers. we'll just have to wait and see.

wtf there isnt enough plotline in that shitty book to last one hour. bella gets married and get knocked up with demon spawn. she wanted to be a vamp so bad but she said she can wait to have more sex. how the hell is that sex even good if ed is so friggin cold. then there was all this build up for a fight but nothing and bella and eddie lived happily ever after in their little sex cottage.

I've read all the books, and I did like them– they are entertaining, even if they are completely asinine. Breaking Dawn, however, is the worst-written book of the series and I have no idea how they're going to eek out enough plot for one movie, let alone two…
Twihards would probably rather die than miss the one of the two movies, but I don't think anyone who's read the books would ever support making the last book into two films.
One movie would have been enough. The other 3 movies are all just over 2 hours long. Breaking Dawn could have gone the 3 hours like Avatar did & still get in everything it needs. I feel 2 films are unnecessary.

I avoided twilight for so long, but was stuck watching it one night a few months ago and got completely hooked. I read Eclipse and Breaking Dawn in 6 days because I couldn't wait years to find out the ending! So I'm excited to see the movies, but I really don't see how they can break it up into 2, there are 3 major events that happen, but the last one really isn't even all that exciting so it's not like they could do a bunch of graphic vampire fights or something, plus Eclipse will do that anyway. Oh well, what can we do!
I agree with whoever said Edward should look how he did in twilight, they put way too much white make up on the vamps in new moon and looks like they did in Eclipse too, to the point where it's not believeable that humans wouldn't notice, plus Edward doesn't look at hot:)

i am glad i am not the only person that this pisses off! wtf twilight?! why can't you be original for once? face that facts, you'll never be better than Harry Potter. i read all the twilight books and i agree that they were boring as hell and the writing was just terrible! i also agree that they could have made all four books fit in one movie: bella and edward fall in love, but jacob wants bella, but we all know who she is going to pick the whole time. she gets married, pregnant, and FINALLY becomes a vampire. they kill the mean vampires and they live happily ever after having sex for the all eternity! yeah, that could be one movie.
As I'm sure a lot of the decision to make Breaking Dawn into two films was about money, it likely was more for the Twilight fans.
For all of you out there that just hate Twilight without ever reading the series - Breaking Dawn is over 700 pages long, and has a hard split within the book. A small part of the beginning of the book is in Bella's point-of-view, which quickly turns into Jacob's POV. At the end of Jacob's POV, which is about the half point - they'll likely end the first movie. The last part of the book is Bella's again, when she becomes a vampire. The book is really two in one. There is far too much material to make it into one movie, and if they had shrunk it into one, there would have been angry fans.

Bella pregnant
Jacob's POV on the pregnancy
End at the labour scene
Second Movie:
Bella vampire
Jacob/Nessie imprinting
