    Haven't these people suffered enough?

  2. 2

that made me cry. I feel so bad for all that have been affected by this disaster, humans and animals alike…seeing the dead pelican on the shoreline was really sad….I wish there was something I could do for them.

This is truly sad that us humans are destroying Earth. :-(

It pisses me off when I see lazy ass people throw trash out of their cars. I literally feel my blood boiling.

I am from New Orleans, LA, born and raised, and still reside there. In fact, I just had my wedding there on March 20, 2010. I think that Glee is doing a really great thing by shedding light on this tragedy. However, this really is the first time I've seen you post anything regarding the Gulf oil spill. I wrote you an email, Perez, about a month ago, asking you to post something about this situation. But you never did. So if the Glee folks didn't do this, would you have posted anything? I honestly don't think so. Yes this is a sad situation. But I don't think those of you who are not from the Gulf, truly understand how devastating this is. I am glad you've posted something. I hope you and anyone else who is only paying attention now, realize that families are hurting because that is there only form of income, and has been for generations. And that the Brown Pelican will be severely hurt forever. Let's hope you stop worrying about ridiculous situation's like Miley Cyrus' new tattoo and start paying attention to real matters at hand when someone in need e-mail’s you to help out.

Re: No Talent_Blogger – unfortunately we will all suffer from this….. the whole world will feel the effects of this oil spill…… its a truely devastating thing to happen…… its only begining…..no more gulf shrimp… no more oysters… and who knows what else will die off…. not to mention our beachs will be ruined….

Everytime I see ANY footage of this horrific tragedy I cry and feel completely devastated. How are we ever going to come back from this. We need to put our focus on helping the people, wildlife and waters in that area.

Re: LizfromNOLA – please let us know what we can do to help and i'm sure alot of people out there would be more than willing to do what they can. I don't however, think that we have to live in the heart of it to understand the severity and devestation of the situation though, you need to give people a little more credit than that. True, there are alot of really ignorant people out there and on this site, but there are also alot of smart, kind hearted people out there too. My heart goes out to all affected by this, near and far.

Very powerful and necessary. I think it's time we stop sitting on our asses blaming people and figure out how to help. Clean energy is important in the long run, but what can we do to help now? That would have made the message even more powerful.

Jesus, that breaks my heart. It is such a contrast to hear that beautiful song (and beautiful version) while seeing those awful images of oil-soaked animals and land. To all those Americans affected by this disaster, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

    Uh, thanks, Iz.

  13. 13

Terrible. Oh thats until the next glee endorsed pop tradgedy happens, then we can all cry about that one and forget about this.

  14. 14

is there anything we can do?

Thanks for posting Perez, this is so important! But it also important that everyone on this earth knows that we are killing our oceans anyway…the amount of plastic we consume here in the US is staggering, and this plastic is ending up in the ocean. The "plastic soup" island that floats in the north pacific gyre is estimated to be twice the size of Texas! This plastic is clogging the ocean, killing wildlife, and toxic plastic elements entering the food chain through the fish that mistake this plastic for plankton. AMERICA, PLEASE, do not use plastic shopping bags (take your own), do not drink bottled water, and take a reusable coffee cup for your morning latte! When you throw your trash away, it doesn't just go 'away'. Huge volumes of oil, from places like the Gulf of Mexico, are used to make these plastic products, that just get thrown away after one use. And look at the results…

This video actually breaks makes me mad, especially after reading how the BP CEO whines how he "wants his life back". Motherfucker should thank his stars that we don't skin him alive for what his company has done to our land. If there's any justice in the world, they will pay every cent of what is needed to clean this mess, and THEN we'll bankrupt that company and close it down, fuck the politics.

I think BP is a pretty cool guy. eh spills oil in the already dirty gulf and doesnt afraid of anything…

I think Uncle Iz would have loved that his version of this song was being used to highlight such an important issue.

  20. 20

Didn't Jason Castro from American Idol do this song too?

  21. 21

Having this post sandwiched between one about megan fox and one about miley cyrus really addresses an important issue i think. It's a terrifying world where many people know more about the ins and outs of celebrity lives than this devastating disaster. All ignorant people need to pull their heads out of the sand and understand the real issues at hand. We as humans have done this. I heard today that 50% of the Earth's oil supply is being used by America alone. Please wake up.
