I grew up in Texas and I've gotta say that most of the people i knew would never vote for this, including myself. However, I live in Utah now and I'm pretty sure people here would. They're even more conservative here than in Texas.

I had three friends shot in high school because they didn't do shit about it. THATS cleaning up. Wasn't there a Supreme Court ruling a couple of years ago that ruled the outlawing of sodomy as illegal. If there was (am I'm pretty sure there was) then this law would be unconstitutional.

I concur with other Texans–not everyone one in the state believes in this platform. You should be free to love and marry who you want. The rest of it will work itself out. Problem is, many people don't take the time to read up on what is being voted on and crap gets through. Or they bill load and put several items on the same ticket. It has been happening for years. I hope that people will finallly decide to live and let live. I am loved by my mother and three gay fathers. These men love me unconditionally like my biological father never did–and did my hair for prom. Not a dig, just the facts. I would not be who I am today without them and I thank God I had them.

I'm from Texas; reading that just made my head explode! So if sodomy is banned, that counts for heteros too, right… I bet these radicals won't be too happy when their wives refuse to "break the law" with them.
This is such a silly waste of time. The gay issue is like smoke and mirrors to cover up them wanting to stop the lottery and boarder issues. I am for closing the boarders completely especially since a somalian al quida terrorist was caught in Brownsville NOT TO MENTION the FACT that the boarder is now a war zone. BTW I mow my own yard and out of work people can pick the damn oranges. The lottery is a benefit to the state - thousands of Texans get on busses to go to Lousyanna to gamble. The GOP needs to wake up and allow all gambling as that would be additional revenue for the state.
As for the GAY issue-I don't give a rats ass what people do behind closed doors as long as there are no minors involved. You don't have to call it marriage if that bothers your christian sensibilities, but civil unions and the benefits from this should be allowed for ALL people.period.
Hopefully the GOP will fall this november and we will be celebrating Govenor Bill White!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
