Michael Jackson Glove Goes For $190,000!!!

| Filed under: Barbara WaltersMichael Jackson

This was the glove Michael Jackson wore on his 1984 Victory Tour and for Los Angeles resident Wanda Kelley, it was worth $190,000!

After making the winning bid at an auction run by Julien's Auction at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Kelley said, "Let's just say, I wasn't walking out of here without that glove."

The Swarovski-crystal-studded glove was expected to sell between $20,000 and $30,000 at the auction however, according to Darren Julien, the response from bidders was "unlike anything we've ever experienced."

He added that "People flew in from Asia, Russia, all over. Now that he's gone, we now realize the true legend we lost."

Other Jackson items at the auction included a pair of stage-worn loafers that went for $90,000, a custom jacket he wore during a Barbara Walters interview that sold for $120,000, and one of the last autographs he signed on June 24, 2009, which went for $21,000.

Worth it??

    Yes! RIP MJ

  2. 2

Lol that glove is worth more than you'r whole pathetic wardrobe.

  3. 3

hope they cleaned the sperm off it

  4. 4

I have a signed CD set personally from MJ, signed just several weeks before he died. I had no idea of it's value

Julien's Auction needs to go eat Crow's Pie! Michael stopped them from holding this auction before he passed and then they jumped on the oppurtunity to do this damn auction after he passed knowing it would make them a WHOLE bunch of money. I'm glad the fans will be able to have something so priceless (hoping they won't go off and re-sale it) but in my opinion certain things should go to his children and family first. Julien's Auction stole alot of this stuff. It was not given to them by Michael before he passed and it certainly was not given to them by Michael's estate. As much as I would love to have something of Michael's, I wouldn't dare try to get something that I know wasn't supposed to be sold or given away in the first place.

  6. 6

Well duh, watch in a 100 years MJ's stuff will sell as much as picasso or michaelaneglo painting.

  7. 7

I think if you had the money it is a good investment because all the items will be worth a lot more in the future!
If I had the money I would have bought it too!
Who doesn't want something that MJ owned?

  8. 8

Proof that some people have too much money. Disgusting.

What does eating "Crow's Pie" mean? I've heard of eating crow or eating humble pie… just curious, never heard of eating Crow's Pie. In any case, MJJ's stuff is definitely worth the price. He was an unbelievable genius whom we lost tragically one year ago this week. I hope he is resting peacefully…

today, 35000 children will die because they can't afford food.

  12. 12

Wow. I didn't know Michael Jackson's glove was worth that much.

  13. 13

Re: Nelly_In_SJ – "Crows Pie" is what Nancy Grace had to eat after Michael was acquitted on all charges against him in 2005. I don't know what other's might make of the term but to me it's just me saying something derogatory without cursing etc.

Re: MJ fan59 – "Michael stopped them from holding this auction before he passed and then they jumped on the oppurtunity to do this damn auction after he passed knowing it would make them a WHOLE bunch of money."
I remember this. MJ stopped it a few days before it was about to happen. He clearly didn't want it to take place. I recently read one of Randy's tweets saying that he's against this auction and he knew Michael wouldn't have wanted it either. He also said that Katherine was the only person who could stop the auction and although he didn't like it, he still stood behind Katherine.

  15. 15

WOW!!!!! thats alot of ca$h for one glove.

  16. 16

So sad that only after his passing people recognise him as the legend he already was. As Janet sang "You don't know what you've got till it's gone". So true.

But then - dying young only adds to the legendary status. I have an autograph from may 2009 when MJ was in London for the show announcement. I'll never part with that though !

  17. 17

    child molester

  18. 18

The idea of peadophilia is so emotive and reprehensible to all adults, so much so that the vast majority in western society concerns themselves with the protection of children and their innocence.

It is impossible to imagine why any adult would act in a way that could be misconstrued that they are a pedaophile, furthermore to create a situation where a child is abused by the negative attention; from the environment that such a accusation would create.

It is an issue like this that questions a mans predilections; irrespective of settlements and the acquittal of a jury. I have read many defenses from fans who cite emphatically that we need to do our detailed research to find him innocent; when this most simplest of facts is blatantly staring everybody in the face.

  19. 19

YES!! he is a real legend!

  20. 20

Re: hamnip – was that suppose to be funny? because you failed!! that is the LAMEST joke ive ever heard LOSER!!

  21. 21

THIS IS A GLOVE FOLKS!!!! Not a painting, a sculpture, drawing, etc. AND MJ DID NOT MAKE IT!!!! He just wore it, like hundreds of others and guess what? THIS WAS NOT THE ONLY GLOVE FOR THAT TOUR!!! If you believe that, you are a fool. (watched one news show that SHOWED a # of these gloves and said there were ALOT made-think of it-'oh, I got ketchup on it, 'oh, it got a rip in it', 'oh, it got lost', )

  22. 22

Those do not appear to be Swarovski crystals!

  23. 23

As for juilien's auction, they must have gotten the crap legitimately, so why are some of you fans so upset about them not giving it to his kids? Don't you realize that there are tens of thousands of items? hundreds of gloves? and in the end, it is a bunch of crap. alot of crap and not a human being. I bet there are going to be auctions ALL OVER THE WORLD for years to get rid of everything. $$$$$$$$$$$ for everyone around the jacksons and and jacksons. Memories are what is important. Not gawdy ugly clothes. They will not bring him back and I hope everyone who pays hundreds of thousands of dollars feels like an idiot. You want to remember MJ and be a part of him? play his music and videos. sick people

  24. 24

Re: papatoony – no, just those little shining things you sew on costumes. If there are crystals, there are very few and I can't see them.

  25. 25

Re: Altruism – So in simpler terms, what are you trying to say?

  26. 26

Re: Fuckstar – I happen to agree with your screenname. The accusers brother was a liar and your screenname sums up what I think about him pretty well. You would know who and what I was talking about had you actually done your research, hater. BTW you forgot to add a little bit more to your comment but I'll help you out "child molester" is the total opposite of what Michael Joseph Jackson ever was.

  27. 27

Re: pinkchik03 – Yeah I saw that tweet too. I wish his wishes regarding that auction could have remained but crap happens I guess..

  28. 28

Re: justtfax – "As for juilien's auction, they must have gotten the crap legitimately, so why are some of you fans so upset about them not giving it to his kids?"

Because like I mentioned earlier, Michael stopped this auction from happening so obviously it was not legit. If you don't believe me you can go back a good 300 MJ post on this site where Perez or his writers talked about this. Just because you think some of this stuff is "gawdy" and "ugly crap" doesn't mean Michael thought it was and it doesn't mean his kids would think it was either. Alot of this stuff was taken from Neverland and taken from the place where his things from Neverland was stored. People were asking why it was that Michael didn't take this stuff with him when he left Neverland if he wanted it? Well heck he couldn't take everything with him and just because he didn't take it with him, it didn't mean that he didn't have plans to keep it around for him or his family. Regardless of the reasons it was his stuff and his wishes were to have his stuff not be auctioned by these people.

Re: I Hate Beyonce!! – hehehehehehe

  30. 30

You buy the exact same glove at the Dollar Store for $1.

  31. 31

    Wow! :O

  32. 32

Re: hamnip – Yawn. Someone else who needs a REALITY CHECK. *facepalm*

  33. 33

Re: Fuckstar – Yawn. Yet, another "tabloid junkie".

  34. 34

Re: Altruism – You gotta be kidding me.
What's staring ppl in the FACE, is the truth that he did not commit those acts he was accused of. But, wow, I guess the HATERS can't see a man such as Michael being so friendly to children the way he was. Children were always relatable to him and he helped them and loved them. He, himself hadn't had much of a childhood and had a tough one at that and he re-lived it when he built Neverland Ranch.
The haters can't see that, though; they're so stuck on pre-concieved notions and societal mores that its's coming out the a$$! Haters judge MJ like all-out,
When really, people who accused him, wanted his money and wanted to suck him dry like the leeches they were!! >:[

  35. 35

u would think they would be worth more than that

way to go 'woody' prob worth ALOT

AMAZED u got michael to sign it

  36. 36

Those don't look like Swarovski crystals, trust me I would know. It's just sequins!

  37. 37

was Lady CaCa one of the bidders.

  38. 38

My friend recommended me an interesting place #$***rich ki ss C om ****, where wealthy hot singles looking for someone to enjoy their wealthy lifestyle with. They discuss women, men, dating, life, sports, movies etc.

  39. 39

I seriously hope this isn't the glove Wanda bought. Sequins are not Swarovski crystals.

  40. 40

Re: Altruism – whats your point???

  41. 41

Swarovski is a waste of money.

  42. 42

I would love to buy anything the estate puts out. Like a picture signed by him or a piece of clothing. Something that meant something to him. But, only from the Estate so the money goes to his children.

  43. 43

actually now that I look at it…it MIGHT be Swarovski, not sequins. Hard to tell, but either way I think it's worth more than $190,000…it's Michael Jackson's for goodness sakes!

  44. CocoK says – reply to this

Re: hamnip – lol i was gonna say the same thing but you BEAT me to it

  45. 45

    Yes, worth it.
He will be remembered long after every one of us is forgotten dust.

  46. 46

  47. 47

I wouldnt even take it for free..WHo would buy it? Museums?

  48. 48

That's a lot of money for a glove, sequins and a lot of dried sperm.

  49. 49

What's staring ppl in the FACE, is the truth that he did not commit those acts he was accused of. But, wow, I guess the HATERS can't see a man such as Michael being so friendly to children the way he was.

  50. 50

Fucking piece of shit website. I didn't make that comment I was replying to it.

  51. 51

I wouldn't trust anything that comes out of his "estate" as being real, not with the way his money grubbing family will con anyone in any way they can to get a few extra dollars.

  52. 52

People have way too much money on their hands and to spend it on such trivial crap? I mean 190,000 for a glove with no artistic merit backing it up. Its just one of many gloves that he wore. It sounds like these people need to spend some money on a psychologist versus things that michael jackson wore. What next his underwear and his used condoms?

  53. 53

Isn't it interesting, that the closest thing to our eyes are our eyebrows; but we cannot see them.

I do not personally identify or understand the concept of hatred. I feel that perhaps a person, who loses a family member to a murderer may feel this destructive emotion. I know not what it is to be so vulnerable and out of control to embrace this concept; or additionally accuse another of it. I can only assess that those that use it in repetitive circumstances; are truly reflecting a subconscious feeling within themselves.

In my learned history I realise I know so little about so much and of course that is how it should be; otherwise It would be considered that I had an unhealthy emotional dependency upon a subject; to ensure that I never had to face the truth about myself.

Deep rooted socially expressed self-hatred is such a pity forming emotion isn't it?

  54. 54

oh cummon! even I can make a fucking glove. basically just knit it with some cheap sequins from the market! it is sooo not worth 190k, more like 5 quid!

  55. 55

If I had the money I would buy it and keep it forever. RIP Michael.

  56. 56

I would have bought an autographed picture of MJ at that auction.

  57. 57

It's probably the same glove he was wearing when he diddled Macaulay Culkin.
