C. Love Is Trainwreck At D.C. Concert!

Poor thing.

Courtney Love was a wreck at Hole's Washington D.C. concert on Sunday.

Not only did she take the stage an hour late, but she spent a minute rambling and smoking while explaining that she was tardy because she was hanging out with her senator friend.

Then, she introduced her assistant, who was in front of Courtney onstage the entire time filming the show on an iPhone. It was said that Miz Love played to the camera more than her fans.

When a fan said that the assistant was blocking the view, Courtney snapped, "[Expletive] you, she's with me."

And she was talking for 10 minutes at a time with out playing a song! She talked about dating, being anorexic and bulimic, Nirvana lyrics, The Washington Post's bad reviews and name-dropped a shizload of celebs.

She even sounded like she barely had a voice, repeated songs, forgot lyrics and chords.

Love brought some of her fans on stage and offended several people. She asked an one girl, "Do you really like rock music? Because you're African-American. That would be like me being into Lil Wayne."

And when another fan asked her to sign a poster, she replied, "No socializing! Go sit over there."

Before the encore, Courtney's handler told the crowd that they would have to be loud because someone was waiting to have sex with the singer. Apparently, it would take lots of applause for her to delay the hook up.

She came back out wearing a see-through top and no bra, but eventually felt weird and asked the audience for a bra. Courtney took her shirt off to put it on!!!

"This is a really weird show," said Courtney. "I can't tell if it's really terrible."

Considering more than half the audience left, we'd say it could be better.

"Do you really like rock music Because you're African-American. That would be like me being into Lil Wayne."

  3. 3

Hasn't she been a train wreak for sometime now. Seriously, why would anyone be surprised by this? She has always been nasty!

  6. 6

"Do you really like rock music Because you're African-American. That would be like me being into Lil Wayne."

But at least she has a point! I dont know a single black person that listens to metal/punk/rock.

  7. 7

If she actually said that shit to the black girl then I will hate her for life. I don't care how much heroin she was doing, that shit isn't cool and it's certainly not funny.

  8. 8

Love Hole, but I mean you can really tell that Courtney's losing it… her latest album was absolutely terrible, her voice isn't even half of what it used to be, and most of the time she's either drunk or doing drugs.
She was obviously drunk, but there's still no excuse to act like that.
    Get it together, Courtney!

  9. 9

    Re: mysurfacedotorg
The song's called Violet, from the album Live Through This.
And no, Kurt did not write that–Courtney did. :/

  10. 10

Re: mysurfacedotorg – Listen to the song Ask For It, great track. It even has Kurts vocals if you find the right version. "Jennifer's Body" is a great song. The writing credits going to Kurt Cobain on the entire album is only RUMOR. The only known FACTS of his involvement are him singing back-up. And unless someone can show you definitive proof he co-wrote it, don't believe it.

  11. 11

    Pathetic jew!

  12. 12

Sounds like a compendium of every Hole show I've seen. Endless rambling that barely makes sense? Check. Taking ten minutes to get to a song? Check. Berating the audience for perceived lapses of taste/behavior? Check. Exposing self and trying to be coy abut it? Check. It's just business as usual for Courtney.

  13. 13

Why does this selfish train wreck have "fans"?

  14. 14

good thing she was having the show taped.. she might shock herself when she watches it. what a mess…

  15. 15

    Re: xoxprincess

    Really? I do.

  16. 16

  17. 17

It's more newsworthy when Courtney Love ISN'T being a hot mess train wreck. You're losing your touch, Mario.

  18. 18

I was there last night..half of the crowd left. She didn't finish a single song and was ridiculous. But its Courtney and you get what you pay for..

  19. 19

Why do her bandmates continue to play with her? It's not like they're exactly bringing in the big bucks anymore. And if CL is chasing people away halfway through the performances, that's money from merchandise that they' are losing as well.

  20. 20

wow, i know black people that like rock, i know this one kid whos like fuckin jimi on the guitar…ant theres plenty of white people who like rap, so i really dont get the comment…bitch

  21. 21

This is what happens when you give white trash a platform, similar to what happens when you give Cuban trash a gossip website.

  22. 22

good job Courtney! you are an amazing singer & you such an attractive woman. damn, i suck at sarcasm.

  23. Heh says – reply to this

Taylor Momsen actually looks better in this shot, alot better oh wait that's ..

  24. 24

everybody needs a train wreck once in awhile

  25. 25

a bunch of my friends went to the show and said it was amazing and this article could not be more wrong… exact quote when my friends saw the article "They are taking everything the wrong way, very wrong!!!!" I am not a fan of c-love but i just look for accurate reports

  26. 26

    A comedy act.

  27. 27

    Patience is a virtue Avril.

  28. 28

The money from her comeback is already buying the best crack money can buy! haha

  29. 29

I do like Courtney's new song "Sunset marquis" ("Face down on the ground in front of the Sunset Marquis…") It must be autobiographical about her life.

  30. 30

This is completly unfair and things need to be cleared up. I was at the show.

She was not an hour late. There was an hour between Hole going on and the opening band finishing. With taking down the previous band, tuning and setting up Hole, I'd say there were maybe 15mins late.

Hole played for 2 1/2 hours, for any real Hole fan this was the best show ever as she was playing to them. Many songs that she was forgetting cords to was do to her not going off a set list and instead was taking requests of her various amounts of back catalog. She commented 'I know you people in the back just want to here Celebrity Skin, but we have a day off tomorrow so were playing to our fans who know all our songs, but you'll get to hear all your old favorites too.'

  31. 31

Her assistant was onstage, but wasn't bad or hurt the show in anyway. She did make the comment to the fan in the audience, but Perez you have taken that out of context, she was joking and with a smile, and ended up singing to the fan then letting him onstage a song or two later.

She did commented that she had not talked so much at a show in 10 years. She was spending time explaining old lyrics and whom they are about and other times were chatting to fans in front and bringing them onstage to sit to the side and rock out with her.

I feel a show where the band actually interacts with the audience should get more respect than playing the exact same show every night and just changing the name of the city when they talk to the audience.

She did not really repeat songs. She did two versions of a new song 'Pretty Your Whole Life' which she was working out to see the audiences reaction as to which should be used in the future.

Along with taking requests she had to remember to play them as many times her new talented new band members did not have known the B-Sides, so she'd do it herself and with the help of the audience worked out the lyrics and rhythm as she had no backup.

For all the songs she has been playing, regularly they were perfect. Yes, by the end of the show her voice was cracking, but must admit her songs are not the easiest to sing or scream in her style and a result was her voice cracking on some of the more powerful songs.

  32. 32

For the African-American thing, again it was a joke. And don't recall the Lil' Wayne comment. She got the girl onstage and let her sing with her. The audience was not offended, if you saw the girl who was tall and fabulous you would have not thought she was into rock. Stereotype maybe, but it was not in malice and was just a joke. She brought up another fan who was of African decent and told the audience, 'I love my black fans' and recalled the lyrics to a song 'gimmie, gimmie, gimmie, big black men.' And Courtney has a black brother, so I doubt she raciest at all. (like your trying to make it sound)

When pulling up fans she said I don't want any weirdos who are going to be screaming out stuff or running up to me. A girl came on stage and ran to Courtney with a poster and pen, and she told her 'site down, we'll get to that later, sit over there we want to play more.'

  33. 33

There's no lie about her assistant telling the crowd to scream louder to get her back out. Before the encore she was onstage and the rest of the band wasn't as she had just been playing a couple of songs by herself. She realized she was supposed to do an encore and said she'd be right back after she changed.

Usually a crowd will go crazy to get the band back out, but I feel as she told them she'd be right back, they didn't' need to and so her assistant (not her handler), helped get the energy back up by telling the crowed she had a guy waiting for her. The assistant 'I'd go have sex over toughs screams, they need to be better than sex.'

She did come out with boobs out behind a shear dress, but for her age or even a 25 yr olds, she has some great breasts. So I say good for her, and yes she did end up putting on a bra shortly after with the help of an audience member who she then gave 'all the merch she wanted' for her help.

  34. 34

There was a comment about 'This being a really weird show, I can't tell if it's really terrible or epic.' She also kept asking the audience if they would like her to just play the stuff they knew, but ended by giving them choices in which they audience went crazy when they heard the rarities she had not played live in over 10 years.

I don't recall anyone leaving the show, but after the show did see hundreds of thrilled fans outside chatting how great it was and how it was one of the best shows they have ever seen.

If this show was filmed for a music special you would have been blown away on how exciting and fun it was and how she's still on-top of her game and how great her new band members are, though her voice might go after a couple of hours. I don't know anyone else with her singing style who could do a 2 1/2 hour show after a full week of shows.

  35. 35

Maybe next time you write a review, you'll get all the story straight. Sounds like you go some miss information from someone who wasn't much a fan.

Some missing fun facts I think you would have rather written about….

One fun fact she told the audience, that Hole had recored another song for the 'Be A Man' soundtrack, featuring Lil' Kim and she admitted it was the worst song she ever wrote and that's why it never got released.

She performed Trent Reznor's 'Closer' in which she said 'I could have wrote this, and the person who did will be pi**ed when he finds out I'm covering it.' She went straight into a Judy Garland song 'Man Who Got Away,' where she told her audience I'm doing that one for my gays. 'I think Judy made up her gays, my gay fans are real.'

    Yes they are. -Greg

  36. 36

I cant WAIT to see her Wednesday in Atlanta…

  37. 37

Re: Eldridge Cleaver – Agreed! Not cool. And no excuse for it.

  38. 38

Re: gregfrederick – Alrighty then! Thanks for the info.

  39. 39

I think perhaps her mother must have taken drain cleaner while pregant with Courtney. Either that or maybe her parents just didn't give a crap about her or abused her someone way. How does one get this point? She has always been the rebel but she seems to be incapable of long term relationships. She messes them up before they leave her. Something tragic happened to this person. She's clearly screaming for help.

  40. 40

Re: xoxprincessRe: xoxprincess – hello xoxprincess, i am indeed an african american girl who likes metal/punk/rock… as well as rap, r&b, classical…the list of genre's go on

  41. 41

This is taking it way out of proportion and she was joking to the black girl and the girl thought it was funny and said she was a lesbian and courtney said something like ah thats why. It was excellent last night she didn't forget any lyrics to all the songs she played the only time she didn't remember the lyrics cause she hadn't played the song since she was originally with hole. and who cares about how long she was talking I really liked it. It made it more personable. It would be one thing if it caused her to rush through the setlist or something but she played 30 songs. More than any of the other concerts. She took requests from the crowd and was just incredible. I will definately go see her again and also it was a sunday night so a lot of people left cause it was so late. Overall one of the best concerts I have ever seen

  42. 42

Who would pay to go see her, THINKING she was going to act perfectly sane and be sober?!?! If you're a TRUE fan, then you KNOW to expect her to act just like this…I would expect nothing less… And, BTW, Courtney, I'm WHITE and I listen to ALL kinds of music, including, yes–Lil' Wayne… AND?!

  43. 43

somebody just needs to take her out back and shoot her like a sick dog

  44. 44

    Re: gregfrederick
Hey, thanks for the info! :)
If you see the source, it was written by Washington Post, who absolutely hate Courtney Love and Hole's new album, so it's nice to hear the story from a true Hole fan–and I believe it how you told it!

  45. 45

    Re: Mad Dog

    Wahhh, so subversive….

  46. 46

Re: So Lifted I Walk On Clouds

Love your airbrushed tatt av….. you should add a mullet to perfect it

  47. 47

Re: JackTheRipper – Oh, ha ha

    Boring jock-face joke

Comment on Limp Bizkit or something

  48. 48

Re: mxmsprime – Exactly! I totally agree. It was one of the best nights of my life. People also left because in DC unlike NYC the subway closes early and that was their only way of getting home. She only forgot the lyrics on songs that she doesn't sing often or the audience requested. If you read about it, it sounds terrible, but her comments were funny and tongue in cheek if you were there. The African American girl wasn't offended and loved being on stage with her.

  49. 49

Re: warholboy – Why is everybody a Warhol-groupie now ? is it the new nerd glasses/tatts/piercings thing ?

  50. 50

i USED to like hole and her..but shes a waste of space

    she was prob doped up

  51. 51

Any fans this bitch has left are f***ing stupid if they still spend their cash buying this woman's shitty product.

What a vile, ghastly, psycho mess.

    I hope she ODs soon.

  52. 52

I personally take offense to her pulling a african american on stage, degrading her fan, and letting that racist bullshit come out of her mouth. Ive been a fan for years. Through all of her crazy antics, but this is some ignorant unforgiving shit. She needs to apologize IMMEDIATELY. I was gonna go to her show, but after this BS….

  53. 53

I was at the 9:30 Club on Sunday for this show and I have to say it was awesome. I grew up in the late '90s mosh pits and Courtney still brings it. I have no idea where half the reviews are coming from because the people that wrote them obviously weren't there. Perhaps a few whiny people left early but the vast majority of people who came to the show stayed. I was there until the end (and yes I was one of the people on the stage so I could see the crowds) and the place was filled. One commentator (I think in the WPost?) complained about the lack of professionalism, blah blah blah. It was Courtney Love playing. Not the Boston Pops. If you are looking for near-perfect execution and starting exactly at the designated time, then you should be at the Kennedy Center not a Courtney Love's performance.

  55. 55

Re: xoxprincess – I actually know several black people who are into metal and rock music. Hey there is even a couple of black counrty singers. Just because you dont know people like that in your tiny little world, doesnt mean they dont exist. Dont be so closed minded.

  56. 56

I was at the show. She came out around 10:15, so it was more like 45 minutes late (assuming she was suppose to start at 9:30).
She seemed sober and played a good version of "I want to f-you like an animal"
I left at 11pm because I had to work the next day and the Metro closes at Midnight.
Just wanted to post this because I'm thinking the review was a snow job.
Place was packed and people were enjoying themselves.

  57. 57

Sounds awesome. I would totally have sex with her just to have an I Fucked Courtney Love story to tell at parties.

  58. 58

    hey courtney, mcdonalds is hiring

  59. 59

PEREZ, THE NEXT TIME THAT YOU TALK TO COURTNEY LOVE, TELL HER THAT "KYOKO, FROM SAN FRANCISCO" SAYS "HI!!!!" LOL! Her eyes will bug out at ya and will light up like Christmas trees! (Of course, that was ME, when she and I used to work together, back in da day!) Fun, fun! (-:

  60. 60

I am not sure what concert that some of these people attended but I was there and it was NOT a trainwreck. She finished many songs….I would not even know where to start with some of this…but most of the quotations that people are quoting are not even her exact words. About the "racist thing" What she said was hey a black chick into Hole, oh my god get your ass up here and helped her on the stage. Where she proceded to have the girl sing a song with her. There was NO LIL WAYNE COMMENT. And she was NOT being racist.

  61. 61

I was astonished to read some of this crap. What are your sources for this? If it is the Washington Post I beg you to find a new one. Like I put on their website. I want to know who the "majority of people that attended" are for them? Who did they talk to? And if I was Courtney Love I would ask them to cough up who the majority is and when they could not I would sue them. I could go on and on but I will sum it up with she played over 30 songs, most of the time taking our requests…what other musician does that for a majority of the concert? And she asked us if we wanted the Springsteen version…people applauded so she gave us over a 3 hour show. People need to get a life. Her new album is genius. She has taken more crap and survived than probably anyone on here. She tried to make a comeback or whatever you want to call it after all this time… even if you don't like it she took the risk…which is more than what most people can say for themselves….You don't have to put down what you don't know or don't understand. THE SHOW WAS AMAZING AND I WOULD PAY THE MONEY TO SEE IT ALL AGAIN!!! Everyone is entitled to their opinion…so if you were there and did not like the concert fine but don't make things up at least put the correct facts out there.

  62. 62

Re: DYNO DAVE – That comment is pathetic. You should really take it down.

  63. 63

Re: gregfrederick – Thank you for this post. My partner and I were there too…and for a while I thought we went to a different show. But your version of events and ours match so…I am not crazy. I am glad that you spoke out. I have on several websites…It is just so unfair. Some of these comments are beyond mean. I would love to know who is writing this crap for the Washington Post. If they are twisting all of this up, what else is there. Makes me wonder.

  64. 64

    Re: xoxprincess – DUMMMBBB.

  65. 65

shame on you perez. you would think you'd realize that a journalist for the washington post most likely does not "get" hole and/or courtney love.

first of all, she was completely coherent. also, the venue was not half empy at close.

we were given a performance of 30 songs that spanned around 2 hours. that's almost unheard of. and it was amazing.

all the shit talk talk is clearly from people are are not fans of hole and/or courtney love.

i've been waiting for this show since i was 12. courtney love delivered.

  66. 66

Wishing her sobriety and mental health.
