Gordon Ramsay's Pub Folds! Thanks Bankruptcy!

Hell's Kitchen host and chef Gordon Ramsay has closed one of his pubs in London due to bankruptcy.

Gordon is having his share of bad money issues as of late and his foodie empire is getting hit the hardest. Sources explain that Gordon had managed to keep debt-collectors away by filtering $8 million into the business to keep it afloat. But there is only so much he can do. With the recession, the pub just wasn't pulling it's own weight.

So he closed up shop. A spokesperson for Ramsay says:

"The Devonshire pub has not been meeting our expectations for a while and we have taken the decision to close it while we consider future plans."

One down. How many more of his places will go under, we wonder?

It's a tough break, but thankfully, he has his reality TV career to keep him warm rich!

Mario, bankruptcy is an individual condition.

Chapter 13 is a business condition. Mr.s Ramsay is fine. A business venture didn't produce so he closed it and filed a business loss claim.

The good man, Gordon, is fine.

Stop blowing shit out of proportion.

haha, I am glad. This guy is a low life creep. He spends his life wishing and trying to be a big cheese like his idol Simon Cowell. Go back to England where you are a semi celeb and give us all peace over here.

Good ! Can't STAND the Pompous Twit…..All that screaming and yelling….WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS? British trash !

His food is absolutely delicious. That's too bad.

People can hate on Gordon all they want, but the fact is that he is one of the most talented chef's in the world. His list of awards (stars, etc) places him as the 2nd highest ranking chef in the world behind only his mentor. This is indeed a business decision but one that is likely due to a combination of spreading himself too thin and general struggles due to business cutting back on expense accounts. It will be interesting if Gordon can tailor his chain to the changing conditions like he is able to do for others on Kitchen Nightmares.

Bankruptcy, hmmm something you know about personally right?

This is about the third time he has had to fold businesses. Yet he is the one gooing around telling others how o get their businesses going.

You can grow plants in those wrinkles on his forehead. His skin looks like leather as well. I can't believe Hell's Kitchen is still on the air. Its obvious that he is playing it up for the cameras. Its becoming more and more transparent to how phoney the show is. The whole gimmick was to show him screaming the whole episode and now when you watch it, its easy to see how forced it really is. Anyways, How many times you can you watch him scream at people that their food taste like crap?
Go back to the UK and cook. Please stay away from tv. PLEASE!

Unfortunately, thousands of pubs closed recently, cause people in England don't want to sit in a pub and not be able to smoke so they find different venues to hang out.

My mom hates him for all that yelling, lol.

    Dayum, ain't bankruptcy a biz-natch! D:
    Bummer!

He'd be great if he would not yell so much! Watch Simon and see how it is done.

    Oh the irony

In this bad economy people are not eating out as much. Saving for another economic crash is more important than spending it on food which is going from your mouth to the loo in 8 hours.

All the chefs in better establishments scream and yell at their staff. Read DOWN AND OUT IN PARIS AND LONDON by George Orwell. In reality he is a kind and generous man to others. What he does is no different than what a coach does in order to get his team to wake up and take notice in order for them to strive to do their best!

Re: Baron von Fleck – Really. He was so obnoxious in his show trailers that I neglected to ever turn it on.
Re: Noniabidnis – You're exactly right. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Besides, the u.k. is so taxed and fee'd to death that I'm not surprised people aren't lining up to pay restaurant or pub tabs.
