Inneresting choice. We wonder how he'll do!

Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor will be scoring David Fincher's new movie about Facebook, The Social Network with frequent collaborator Atticus Ross!

He reveals:

"I've always loved David's work but quite honestly I wondered what would draw him to tell that story. When I actually read the script and realized what he was up to, I said goodbye to that free time I had planned. The film opens October 1 in the U.S. with the record likely available a couple of weeks ahead of that."

At least from the look of the trailer, it appears the movie might get surprisingly dark - which is a strange tone for a movie about Facebook - so we're optimistic about what Reznor will produce!

What do U think?? Is he a good choice for The Social Network??

The perfect choice! Brilliant edition to the movie!

trent reznor pretty much lost his edge, turned into a softie, got married, and slid off into middle age. it is appropriate that he is making movie music, because this is usually the last step before retirement or an "oldies" tour.

prediction is that the movie will blow, and the soundtrack will soon be forgotten (and this from one huge NIN fan).

    Trent is god!

How many different ways can you say Poseur, Douche bag?

OMFGnoway and maxsmom grow-up, Trent did! I think a lot of musician contribute to movies. Quite honestly I hope he continues to do so. I like his style edgy or commercial you can always tell he made the music. So to me he has not sold out just progressed!

    amazing

Awesome-o! Even if the movie sucks the music won't. To all the haters, "fans since the beginning" or not, accept the fact that good musicians evolve and mature. Wouldn't you be complaining if they put out the same exact album, time after time?

"Inneresting choice. We wonder how he'll do!" … are you fucking retarded? If you'd read up on Trent Reznor past the first google result you ran since you obviously know dick about this guy, you would have realized a huge fraction of his work has been production for film scores, games and loads of other musicians besides NIN. All products have had his "dark" metallic signature, which in my opinion would suit this film just fine.

Seriously Perez, it's OK to admit when you're *not* an aficionado on a celeb you're reporting on. Otherwise you just come off as an idiot.

    Can't wait to see it!

they have somehow managed to make this movie even more unappealing and uninteresting.

trent renzor is totally washed up and hasn't produced a decent album in 10 years.

hopefully it will be better than his whole how to kill an angel project. blegh! but this pairing is not surprising - ever seen Se7en? the opening song is a remix of "Closer".

    Re: omfgnoway
Have you even listened to How To Destroy Angels? In my opinion it's an amazing EP and I'm excited to see what the full length contains. I'm a huge NIN fan as well and seeing him last year on his farewell tour literally brought tears to my eyes. I realize that Trent has "retired" the NIN name for now because he wants to enjoy making music with the women he is in love with and married to. That could mean he lost his edge, but judging off the EP they've released so far, I don't feel that way at all.

As for the soundtrack, as a huge NIN fan, you should know that Trent Reznor has already produced the soundtracks for Lost Highway, Natural Born Killers, and the video game, Quake.
