Happy 4th of July!!!

We might not always agree on things or words or anything else but, there is one thing that all Americans agree. And that is that, this is the one great nation of all times in human history. Our way of living, the freedom we have daily is nothing but a wishful dream to many others. I thank
God everyday for the blessing of living in this land, for the freedom I experience daily and the security that comes from being able to just simply be. Happy 4th of July to all. Remember those servicemembers that made it possible and those who, still struggle daily in a far away nation…. Peace….

The u.s. is by far the greatest country(not just nation) on earth.
We are the richest(at $14.26 trillion/year) and we have the greatest military force the world has ever seen.

Also, we are the greatest because we help the smaller man out. Most of our wars including the gulf war, vietnam war, korean war were due to us PROTECTING other nations that were attacked.

And what other nation went to the moon? thats right, only us.

So when you hear Americans claiming that we are the "greatest" don't take it as a joke.

Since Perez didn't post my last comment, I will have to reiterate my point, which most whom have replied have completely missed. It's not a matter of country having a dark history, as all do. There is no denying that the US is a great nation, but it is a falsehood to claim it as the "greatest". The UN did a study on the best country to live in, US ranked 13th. Sorry, I guess not everyone thinks you're the greatest country out there.

It doesn't make sense to use that as a reason for being the "greatest" when plenty of other countries have the same right. Especially considering that the US media is censored much more than other nations. I think if Americans maintained their pride, but learned to look to the successes of other countries, it could greatly improve and one day become the greatest country. But as for now, I'm afraid the rest of the world does not view America as that.

Canada didn't have slavery up until the same point that America abolished it. If that were so, there would be no such thing as the Underground Railroad, a system used to smuggle African American escaped slaves to Northern US and Canada. Canada doesn't begin wars, we enter them to aid our allies or act as peacekeepers. Can your country say the same regarding Iraq and Afghanistan? Oh right, sorry, those wars were because of the "terrorists". LOL! I never once called you or any Americans racist, I just brought up the not so great history to show that America wasn't always the great free country it is today, making the statement "greatest country of all times" completely invalid. I'm sure America could have, at some point, been referred to as such, but it certainly hasn't always been so great, nor is it the greatest now. And it's fine if you think Canada is a joke. We're ranked number 4 by the UN's study of best countries to live in. America is number 13. To some of the people posting on this site, try and show some humility. Saying things like 'were the one great nation of all times in human history' is just antagonistic and annoying. Yes America is a great nation but throughout history there have been many great nations. Statements like that are the reason why many people don't like American's (I'm not one of these people), be nice, be gracious and have an ace 4th of July!
