Ian McKellan Dropping Out Of The Hobbit?

If they don't figure all of their shiz out, this movie is going to implode in on itself!

Production of The Hobbit, the prequel to The Lord of the Rings films, has pretty much been troubled since day one, but now we're hearing news that Sir Ian McKellen may put the final nail in the coffin - by dropping out as Gandalf!

He reveals:

"Well I'm not under contract and my time is running out and I'm enjoying working in the theatre and frankly, I would like to race after doing 'Waiting For Godot,' get on with doing another play but we'll have to see. I don't give the producers the impression that I'm sitting waiting. What it will be I genuinely don't know. It'll either be, we're going ahead or we're not."

Sounds like he's just as fed up as everyone else with this mess of a movie!

Understandably so! We'd be over it, too!

Thoughts??

He said hes not under contract with them to do it yet…do you even read? and He's not saying no He says he doesn't know…learn to comprehend what you read before you write this dribble asswipe. Oh AND GET A PROOF READER .

lol Mario you are such a tool you act like you are on the Production team or something, guess what you are nobody.

To be an actor and have to put the Kibosh on a flick is a serious case of "No one knows what the fuck they're doing" on the set. Good for him- although I truly believe as a grand actor as he is, he's calling the producer's bluff- and with good reason. A ny film with a rocky start is only about as good as its video/dvd sales. I too would be sceptical if such a large production was having THIS much trouble launching from the platform. For the record- all you "Lord/Rings" fans need not worry, Ian WILL be Gandalf once again, but best to let the dust setle from all this production crap before we start putting pen to paper about such matters. Hollywood's a fickle bitch- I know, I live here, dammit!

Without him that film will be shit. Those douches better get their asses in gear if they want to get it done. Personally I think they are the wrong people to be taking on the job. If peter jackson isn't involved, then wtf is the point anyway? The only reason th lord of the rings films succeeded was because of him.

The studio better get their shit together and FAST! These films will be the biggest money makers they have, so they better not screw the pooch and let it fall apart.

DUDE IS A GREAT ACTOR, THAT'S THEIR LOSS… EVEN IF HE'S GAY THO NOT LIKE FAT BOY'S KID OF DOUCHEY "GAY".

Thank god there is not a stock exchange on movie futures. It seems all it takes to sink a movie is bad buzz and then everyone starts jumping ship (like Maclellan) to insure their stock doesn't go down with the doomed picture.
