Not surprising. There maybe just a few more millions to squeeze out of the world.

Fox announced that James Cameron's epic Avatar would be re-released in theaters at the end of August. The limited engagement is being dubbed Avatar: Special Edition and will only be shown in 3D theaters.

So what makes it so special? How about eight never-before-scene minutes of footage? How's that to tingle you nerdy-sense??

In the press release for the event, James explains:

"Audiences repeatedly told me they wanted more of Pandora, and wished they could have stayed there longer. So we're making that possible. 'Avatar: Special Edition' will be exclusively in 3D, and will have eight minutes of never before seen footage, including new creatures and action scenes. Whether you already love the movie, or you've never seen it, with this special edition, you'll be seeing it like never before."

Nice sell at the end there!

The flick returns on Aug. 27th.

Any of U planning to go?

8 minutes??!! Hahahahahahahahaaaaa … that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I guess the studio really does understand the kind of complete morons who like this piece of crap film. They know they're dumb enough to pay to see 8 shitty minutes that'll be on DVD within a month anyway.

I just watch Dinotopia the other day and notice many similarities to Avatar. When I first saw Avatar I immediately thought of Dances with Wolves, now I see Dinotopia.
Graphically Avatar is great, but story line… hmmmm
