Gay Marriage Progress!!!

You guys are wicked awesome, Bean Town!
A judge in Boston made two important rulings today concerning same-sex marriage. Two cases were brought to his attention concerning Section 3 of DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act.
This particular section of the act limits the definition of marriage to apply only to heterosexual couples and excludes homosexual ones from federal benefits. After hearing both sides ruthlessly argue, the judge deemed the act "unconstitutional." In both cases, the judge ruled that DOMA failed to "meet even the most simple judicial review, rational basis — in other words, there was no justifiable reason to the federal government to treat same-sex couples."
Bravo! Well said!
Of course, that isn't the end of either case. Now, they will be taken to the U.S. Court of Appeals, where not only will each case be reviewed, but also argued whether their is a "legitimate need" for DOMA in the state!
Amazing! A solid victory for equal rights!

Wait, you forgot to mention (again) that President Obama opposes gay marriage.
I love how Barry Obama hoodwinked pretty much every gay American (since very few gays vote Republican.) The only progress the gay movement will have is in courts. George Bush likes gay people more than Barry Obama. Remember when Barry had Rev. Rick Warren speak at his inauguration? That would be the equivalent of Hitler inviting Elie Wiesel to the Eagle's Nest for some dinner. The words don't match the actions. Does Mario talk shit on Barry? No, he's too busy kissing Gaga's ass and talking shit on Lilo.
Being gay is just an evolutionary tic. We might as well accept them. It's mother natures way of stopping hurtling overpopulation. They're good for the earth.
I'm proud of my home state.
A WIN for EQUAL RIGHTS! This is exciting news!
…the real argument is the "no fault" divorce….that is what should be illegal….don't commit if you can't….that is no reason for a divorce….don't marry and just shack up….then you can just take off……
"there was no justifiable reason to the federal government to treat same-sex couples". Treat them for what? To what? I really do not understand how a website such as this can continually make these sorts for mistakes. Yes, I can figure out what is meant, but the unprofessionalism is stunning.
Treating each other unequally doesn't make sense, it is about time we reconcile as a people and as a Nation.
Re: Eldridge Cleaver – Don't forget about the Log Cabin Republicans…..there are TONS of them.
BTW, your Ryan Seacrest avatar is fucking hysterical.
The butt pirates won't be happy until they can cornhole each other in the middle of town at high noon.
LETS REMOVE MARRIAGE FOR BLACK PEOPLE.
Lets see how much stink that causes…
Treating people unfairly in such manner is against human rights. Whether it be by personally, religion or government - its not right and should NEVER be tolerated.
Cool, discrimination of any kind is SOOOO 1950's.
Re: FatherPatOphelia –
Duh…don't you know Republicans are gay and the democrats like to rape women. Its well documented. Every time there is a scandal it goes like this - Mr. Republican was having gay sex in the bathroom, and in other news…Mr. Democrat bit the lip of a women during rape. You step out of line and a the PTB blackmail you with a masseuse or a underage page.
Yeah yeah yeah….but when will Eldridge Cleaver be able to marry and buttslam a goat?
Re: Eldridge Cleaver – Thanks. I'm a big fan of my avatar, too
Yes, I know about the Log Cabin Republicans but as far as I know, there aren't THAT many of them.
Re: feel_the_darkness – Really? Republicans are gay? No, they aren't. And I hate the Dems but I won't go as far as you did and say that they rape women…maybe they stick cigars up vaginas and perjure themselves afterward but not flat out rape. I know you're gay and you're really pissed that you got suckered by Barry. That is no reason to attack me and my pet goat though
Some of the comments on this post are fucking ridiculous. Bush does not like gay people more than Obama. He is the one who put the gay rights movement back a whole decade, and Obama and the Democrats are the ones who believe in equal rights, so don't talk shit people.
Re: Tube Steak –
Agreed, Bible also says divorce is wrong (except for adultery…I'm throwing side eye at you, Tiger), why the fuck is no one marching against divorce or making a big deal. Americans have the worst divorce rate, they really shouldn't be casting any stones about anyones marriages.
Re: Eldridge Cleaver – lol almost all political gay sex scandals have been republicans…google it.
Re: kenzie6t4 – Moron, I'm not talking about politicians. I'm talking about average Joe's out there. As the first poster here mentioned, Barry Obama does not support gay marriage yet the average gay citizen (not politician) voted for him. They got suckered. It's not up for debate.
You do know that Boston just approved an illegal immigrant bill similar to Arizona's, right?
I am so proud to be from MA!!! Always first in moving this country forward
Proud of my homestate as well! Great pic you used too Perez!
Re: tiggerchick5 – Really? Why don't you read the whole story before you spew lies!
I quote from the Boston Herald: "Anywhere where people seek government services, it will simply require them to be able to require legal identification to show they are here legally," Moore said. "Anyone who is going to receive a benefit or driver's license has to be in compliance with what the law requires."
Why do Gays want to be recognized so much? You can achieve the SAME thing by having a civil ceremony and legal documents expressing each other's wishes.
So, you won't get your partner's job benefit, but Heck! get your own job and benefits. Gay Pride is just a subculture AND always will be!!!!!
Yes, but nobody would never marry you Mario, lol.
I am oh so proud to live in Boston where we live with equal rights and parking tickets for being caught smokin' up
Love it!!! Boston is the best, I love my home town always making positive moves. Boston has the best health care of any state and we make positive contributions to the gay community. And I say we because we have voted for many of the changes begin made.
Re: kel1ybel –
That is so true can you believe that we are better then NY when it comes to progress. No wonder the pilgrims landed here 1st LOL….
Go Massachusetts! Amazing! Equality for all!
I was always for equal rights until Mario started bleating on about it. Now the subject makes me feel ill. If the gays disowned him then I'm sure lots more of us would stand up for equal rights. Just makes us feel ill to stand up for such a brain-dead, scumbucket douche.
