Piers Morgan Officially Replacing Larry King? Almost!

CNN wants Piers Morgan. Piers Morgan wants CNN.
If they can manage getting over one last little hurdle, the deal for Piers to replace Larry King is done.
So what's the problem? Who else, but NBC!
Piers has a talent contract with Celebrity Apprentice, one NBC won't be keen on letting him out of. What's extra tricky is that NBC is rumored to be merging with CBS and there is no WAY they will let talent flock off to their rivals that easily.
Only time (and possibly some serious buy-out money) will tell if this deal can go through.
Here's hoping for you, Ryan Seacrest Piers!

It's not NBC in negotiations with CBS for a possible merger, but CNN negotiating with CBS.

Ummm… no. NBC is not rumored to be merging with CBS. That would raise huge antitrust issues (do you even know what that means?) and could never happen. NBC is in talks with Comcast. Don't even try to post business rumors on this site, dude. You have no idea what you're talking about.

This seems like a really odd choice. It would be better if they canceled Larry's show entirely and then put whoever they want in his timeslot. Like Larry King or not, I don't see anyone becoming the "new" Larry King - who'd want to be anyway. King's show doesn't seem like the kind of show you could just hand off to a replacement.
Lolz, noone can replace Larry King. gonna miss King being on CNN.
