We knew this would come sooner or later!
Selena Gomez is leaving her role of Alex Russo on Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place when its fourth season ends.
She explains:
“Unfortunately, I’m doing my last season of my show, which I’m really heartbroken about. That’s gonna be a terrible time for me. I’m gonna do a movie for my show, which I’ll be excited to end it with, and then a tour."

you know…as a grown adult, i always thought it was kinda cute. but it doesnt surprise me..shes getting older..and so are the kids who watch the show. just like with Miley & HM.
she should take this time to get an education, and learn how to speak properly.
She turns 18 in nine days, so I guess we'll see her vagina in 10. Her music career is awful, so we know what's coming next.
um because nobody watches it anymore, or ever did. At least HM actually had viewers. On to nude scenes and drugs and undetermined baby dadies. This show's 2-year old veiwers put her true destiny on hold for a while, but dont worry its coming

Good for her! I am really looking forward to seeing her do more movies! She has more talent in her pinky finger than Miley Cyrus has in her whole body! The reason Miley gets all the attention is b/c she is the one doing all the skanky, racy, and inappropriate things. Meanwhile Selena, whether or not she does things behind closed doors, she is a great role model for kids! She chooses, not to do the types of things Miley does in public!

Not surprised. The truth is she makes more money doing a movie than whole season of this show. Thats why Disney shows never last…especially the successful ones. I'll glad for her…I really like Selena, and he acting is way too good to be stuck on a Disney show.

Good. She is one of the few Disney kids who can actually act. It is normaly the supporting actresses that make these shows, but not this one. She made it.

i absolutely love this show. i think its 10 times better thn HM. i could hardly ever sit through an episode of HM growing up, but i LOVED wizards. i think selena's character is hilarious. i love her sense of humor in it.
a lot of people are critizing tht perez was against miley when she left after the fourth season but isnt saying anything negative about selena, but then again look at both girls' reactions to leaving their shows. Selena says shes very sad to leave it, Miley seemed a little arrogant in her reaction to leaving HM.
and ofcourse the number one thing we should look at is how these two girls who are practically the same age are leaving their respective shows. Selena has a nice image, no tattoos, hasnt danced on any poles, groped any 40 year old men, shown her crotch to anyone, or wore skanky outfits while "performing."
i think the image they are leaving disney with is why people criticize one more than the other.
had miley's image and attitude been more down to earth and non-skanky, maybe people would support her leaving disney…

First, I would like to say that I'm sad that the show is ending next season. But, I kind of expected it because the shows on Disney Channel are usually around for 4 years. People always say that she's "fake" or she has "no talent." If she's fake or has no talent, then why do young girls like her? It surprises me that some people say negative things about her…when she hasn't done anything wrong. She has been able to stay a good role model for her fans. Another thing that bothers me is that when people say she can't sing. Ok, she's not the best singer on Disney, but at least she tried. If she's such a bad singer, then how come her album went gold? Explain that. You can bash me all you like, but that's my opinion. If you don't like her, then why the hell are you saying anything? Do you really think that she's going to read all of your silly, rude comments? NO! She has more important things to worry about, like her acting career. Also, these comparisons between her and miley need to stop. it's getting old. Selena is being herself. She's not trying to be 'The Next Miley Cyrus' or anything. So, just leave her alone.
I highly doubt she's leaving the show for the simple fact that the show would be nothing if one of the russo kids left, so im guessing the show itself is ending, cause disney shows don't last more that 4 seasons.

i love selena gomez. shes always being attacked on the internet but you never see her dressing like a skank or saying mean things to other people. she actually tries to make the world a better place instead of just saying she cares about the environment or people less fortunate she really is eco friendly and she helps out unicef:) shes awesome and the wizards movie is the only non animated disney movie that has made me cry. shes such a good actress… not the best singer, but shes only 17 and im sure she can still get better, with singging lessons of course.
