Could MJ's Neverland Ranch Be Turned Into A State Park?

| Filed under: Legal MattersMichael Jackson

Creepy, but yes, it could.

Officials are looking into Michael Jackson's prized property known as Neverland and making it a state park.

Though most of the attractions had been dismantled and sold after his death, legislators see a profit to be made from fans who would visit from around the world to see the fame playground of the King of Pop.

Though the park stands to bring in a lot of revenue, in order for the state to get it's hands on the park, they'll have to dish out millions of dollars that the state of California just doesn't have! ($19 billion deficit - thanks Arnie!)

So for now, it seems Neverland will remain in the hands of the Jackson estate, but we imagine this won't be the last we hear of this idea.

When there is money to be made, people will find a way!

Would U go visit Neverland if it was converted to a state park?

Wouldn't that be up to the MJ estate whether they want to make it into a park or not and whether they even want to sell it to California? It would make money thought its like his Graceland.

  2. 2

Hope CA doesn't shell out the $$$$ 'cuz uhhhh…YEAH California is BROKE! Teachers are getting fired, public schools are shutting down, and now I'm told one has to go on welfare before they'll get any help paying for child care (how does THAT make sense?)
But, hey, thanks Californians that voted for Arnold… my local school may have shut down but at least I'll save a couple of bucks a year on car registration (sigh)

  3. 3

Of course I would! I love Michael Jackson, and always wanted a chance to meet him. Now that that can never happen I would at least like to see his legendary home.

Um! wasn't he a Pedophile? has everyone forgotten about that, now he's dead?

  5. 5

Sounds boring - especially if none of his stuff is there.

  6. 6

Yes i would go becuase mj has been there, and i would really love to feel his energy, feel closer to him,i love him sooo much and hope he is happy with the angels…

  7. 7

You're SO late on this, Mario! Anyway, I read that it's not likely to happen.

  8. 8

I hate how ppl tey to profit off MJ now. Before he passed, everyone thought Neverland was this creepy place.. but as soon as he passed, those in charge got to know how much was loved.. so they try to profit everyint. Im just storryu that MJ was not around to see all this outpouring love from the society.. little to late imo.

Re: jonno – have u read the facts/the courtscript= if u havt, then u have nothing to say. im all for different opinions.. as long as they are based on accurate facts/evidence! tell me exactly how much u really know about the cases… cuz I got tons of information and Im more than happy to provide them for u.

  10. 10

HECK NOOOOOO! California doesn't deserve NOTHING of Michael Jacksons after that STUPID trial!

  11. 11

So great to see the great NAACP doing important work.
MJ at least worked really hard to get famous.
    -
You people at the NAACP, jumped the shark long ago when you sold your souls for backroom deals and to get rich on whitey's back.
    -
And who has suffered the most?
Your children and grandchildren idolizing ghetto culture.
    Sons not marrying your daughters.
    Shame on you.

  12. 12

i love neverland and michael did too which is why he never sold it, it's not creepy. i think the estate should keep it and make it some kind of attraction.

  13. 13

    Yes, I sure would.

  14. 14

    I would totes be there.

  15. 15

    Pedo State Park.

  16. 16

I pray the Michael Jackson Estate,
Michael's children (Prince, Paris, and Blanket) and the state of California will all work together to preserve Michael Jackson's Beautiful Neverland.
If Neverland becomes a state park, of course, special needs and low-income childrenshould be allowed to apply for a special program that enables them to visit free. Remember Michael Jackson designated 20% of his estate money for the developement of charities for children.
I think that should include the Neverland Valley Ranch.
I believe Michael Jackson still visits his Neverland Valley Ranch often.

  17. 17

The State cannot afford to buy Neverland- and not one single person in the Santa Ynez Valley wants a State Park here…the property borders Los Padres National Forest- so why not just visit there? All of the attractions were removed BEFORE he passed to pay creditors. There is NOTHING there but a run down, piece of shit home. The Assembleyman trying to run this thing thru is an idiot- I bet he has never even visited the County, and has never once considered that the residents of this area want no part of a bunch of unemployed loonie toons driving here and hanging out for a GHOSTMOLESTER.

RIP Michael Jackson- they are still chasing your money, honey!

Thanks Arnie that deficit would have been ten times the size without you or a surplus without the illegals.

  19. 19

surrrrre cause CA has the money to blow on this

Perez, you're an idiot. Governors merely approve the budget, they do not write it. They can try to influence what goes in the budget and obviously have the power of the veto, but actually are very limited in their power over the creation of the budget, especially with an uncooperative legislature like we have in California.
It is the LEGISLATURE, which is and has been controlled by liberal Democrats for some time now, that are in charge of crafting the budget. THEY are the ones that are driving this state into absolute financial oblivion.
While I dislike Arnold anyway and think he's been an awful governor, I thought you should get your facts straight. Did they make you take Government classes at that artsy fartsy school you went to?
    J P

  21. 21

    Graceland West?

    What a trash-magnet.

  22. 22

    Maybe a petting zoo. A heavy-petting zoo

  23. 23

I wonder if they'll put in molester benches for the pedis.

  24. 24

What are you an idiot? I am like 10 years younger than you and have only lived in CA 2 years and even I know that this budget was in disarray for 10 years before "Arnie." He promised to FIX the budget problem BEFORE he was governor. GOD you're stupid.

  25. 25

    hope it does!!!!!!

  26. 26

HOW? CA has no money (thanks Arnold)

  27. 27

Your governor isn't the only reason CA is fucked. Blame the bankrupt people living there - like some celebrities - who STILL build and buy huge mansions they can't afford. Ever see the amount of foreclosures in your state? Yeah, it's a lot.

    28

I find it sad how they still try to make profit out of his death. They should just let him rest in peace! I don't think he would really want other people to see it. Although probably lots of people will go there.
We love you and miss you Michael Jackson!

  29. 29

Yeah, and I'll pull up in my van that says "Free Candy"!!!!!!

  30. 30

    THey shudnt do tht

  31. 31

    @jonno ; na tht was a rumour

  32. 32

    Re: mackypoo

Unfortunately, Perez would pull up with a bigger van with much more candy. I think Porky Pedo is the only person on earth that loves little boys more than MJ.

  33. 33

Re: jonno – Id be more than happy to provide you with more facts then you can take with proof he is innocent. Do your reacherch before posting things like this.

  34. 34

So what will they have as an attraction? This is the room the pedophile molested the boys in, this is the room Michale gave Jesus Juice to little boys, this is the room Michael kept his porn in……

I hope Los Olivos residents raise a huge stink and stop this filthy monument to the pedophile from ever happening.

  35. 35

HELL YEAH! I would visit! I have been waiting for this for years! The new Graceland…but MUCH better!

  36. 36

You're going to bring your children to the home of a former drug addict and child molester?

  37. 37

Stop worshiping this PEDOPHILE and CHILD RAPIST!

  38. 38

It could be another kind of Elvis thing. Good for revenue…

  39. 39

Perez, do you ever write your own stuff? Of, do you just copy and paste the things OTHER people wrote?

  40. 40

Re: queen_0f_p0p – SHUT UP YOU IGNORANT BITCH..he was innocent now deal with it and think of some other ignorant comment.

  41. 41

The neighbors would never go for it. They have fought every idea along that line so far.

  42. 42

    Re: queen_0f_p0p
If your not a fan fine, but really he was so fucking obviously innocent that it's plain cruel, evil bitches like you made his life hell,go check out the evidence,oh wait thier is none proving his guilt,so why would they lie and plot on mj (calls that are on youtube planning to do this by the dad)MONEY,how ignorant are you!

  43. 43

Re: bongo – you are so ignorant it's cruel,mj was clearly innocent ,cant you think of the damage all the crap mj had to deal with,it's a miracle he kept his amazing personality, how can you say such an evil lie?
you are such a horrible person

  44. 44

Re: ScoutJonas – Thank you for that!

  45. 45

I actually would go if it was a state park. I am just one of those people who dont quite believe all the legal issues he had. There is just something off about a parent taking money to keep their child from talking in court. I dont know, that never sat well with me. If someone hurt my child, there is no amount of money you could pay me to shut me up and not only that but taking the money only would allow this sex offender the ability to go out and do it again. How is that right? That whole thing just seemed really wrong to me, like we were missing half the true story. The second allegation I didnt believe cause the mother was a nut job who had a history of lying and had all these crazy stories. I am not a Jackson fanatic but I just never quite believe the stories. I dont know, just a gut feeling I got. So thats why I wouldnt mind seeing Neverland.

  46. 46

Not sure of the idea, but i would definitely visit either way. =]

  47. 47

Perez, get your head out of your Democratic ass! California is in debt because of the Democrat Assembly hell bent on spending everybody else's money with stupid legislation. They're totally out of control and everybody needs to be thrown out, including Arnie.

  48. 48

Re: bongo – People can go on treasure hunts and find stained Underoo's that MJ buried around the property.

  49. 49

YES YES YES!!!! I would definitely go! - There is so much history there. The greatest musical genius of all time lived there and created there and neverland was his creation of his perfect world. It represent's his beautiful mind and heart.

To all those who keep saying he was this or that… - you guys really need to do your research. Both cases, the parents were proven con-artists.

  50. 50

    1. The law clerk that worked for the firm in the first case in 93 has since gone on record to say that she literally witnessed the boy's father set Michael up for money. The son later sued his father because his dad kept the money from him. The father later committed suicide about a year ago I believe.

    2. In the second case - the mother Janet Arvizo was a proven con artist known to police for welfair fraud and various other delinquents. Prior to the family meeting Michael she sued JC Penny claiming their guards sexually assulted her after her son (and MJ accuser, also an actor) was caught shoplifting.

  51. 51

Many celebrities such as George Lopez, Larry King and so on tried to warn Michael after he befriended the boy and helped him overcome cancer that the family was sketchy and to get them out of his life…. the family was living at Neverland and once the kid was well from cancer him and his siblings were tearing the place up, including Elizabeth Taylor's guest room…going through wine cabinets etc…. the staff was fed up, enough was enough, Michael kicked the family out and cut the mom off from use of his credit cards and then…. all hell broke loose as we all know.

I really wish people would do their research - I happen to have 2 close friends that were good friends of Michael's and he really was very misunderstood by the public. In truth, he was a kind, beautifully hearted man who saved thousands of lives and believed in saving the world. In fact he is said to have donated $300-500 Million to charities in his lifetime, more than any pop star ever has.

    Rest in Peace Michael

  52. 52

hell no! seems dumb to me. and california is BROKE! how exactly are they going to pay for the land?

  53. 53

Re: Leelou77 – - you're absolutely right on that feeling - thanks for posting this.

The parents were proven con-artists, the dad in the first case committed suicide after Michael died and tried to keep the money from his son the so called "victim" - Son sued dad for battery and they had a strained relationship.

Second kids mom was a proven con-artist known to police cited for welfair fraud as well as suing JC Penny security for sexual assult after her son shoplifted from JC Penny (the so called Victim) - JC penny paid her $150,000….

  54. 54

Re: queen_0f_p0p – - read my post. Your comment is not only ignorant in it's hateful nature but it's completely unfactual, further amplifying your ignorance. I challenge you to go do some actual research and back up your claim with court documented facts and evidence. I guarantee you that you will be taken back - just like Aphrodite Jones, a reporter who had it out for Michael until she started following the trial, attending and doing research. Just do it for fun… Google Janet Arvizo (mother of the accuser)documented welfair fraud, JC Penny settlement etc….
In the first case - Geraldine Hughens, a legal secretary who worked for the assusers lawyer has since claimed she witness them set up Michael

  55. 55

Re: elo – Do your research…
Since illegals pay taxes but rarely ask/seek out social services they make America more money than they take

  56. 56

I have a better idea of what to do with Neverland. Disneyworld should create an exact replica of Neverland in its park in Orlando,Florida and have all of MJ's stuff put there and children from all around the world can come and visit the new Neverland at Disney.

  57. 57

Re: erikalea – Illegals/people on welfare do not pay taxes. They pay sales tax on items they are buying with money given to them by the government.

  58. 58

they should. they did it in memphis for elvis why not? even though graceland is boring as hell.

  59. 59

Re: queen_0f_p0p – HELLO TICK TOCK TICK TOCK… HAHAHA :D omg your so pathetic its hilarious!!

  60. 60

    I would visit.

  61. 61

Wow i would so fucking go to this! I live in london, and would travel every year to come and visit Neverland. Thats the only thing that would make me visit Shitty America!

yes totally, it would bring huge money for the state, amd give access to fans from all over the world. Plus it could make mj officially a national icon
