It's Not The Candwich, But…

If you are a guido off to college where yo momma can't whip you up a lasagna to snack on, this might just hit the spot!

Tesco supermarket chains are now offering the world's first lasagna sandwich. Served cold, the sandwich contains "two thick slices of bread and a filling of diced beef in a tomato and herb sauce layered with cooked pasta sheets and a creamy cheddar, ricotta and mayonnaise dressing."

Yummy!

The company insists the new delicacy is healthy, but sources have taken a closer look at the product and found out just how NOT healthy it is!

According to sources, eating a Tesco lasagne-sandwich is the equivalent of having two McDonald’s cheeseburgers. There is a whooping 565 calories in each little sammy!

Wow! We're not going anywhere NEAR one of those! (Though it is very tempting!)

Good ol' Tesco….but seriously, yuck. Not mention carb overload with the bread AND pasta. I love ya Tesco but not this one ha

  3. 3

I'm Italian and any other Italian I know would never eat this crap. I threw up a little in my mouth reading it. YUCK ICK GROSS TRASH

  4. 4

gross…..oh yeah bristol and levi are engaged! you haven't reported that yet!

  5. 5

Well if you can so casually toss off the term "guido" when speaking of a person of italian descent going to college, then I guess you have no problem with me call you Balsero? Let me know.

  6. 6

565 calories? Only? You know a man can eat up to 2000 calories per day if he has a normal active lifestyle?
Now if you go and eat two of these per lunch, well then there is a problem.
Please Perez, don't talk about subject which you obviously don't know anything about.

  7. 7

OMG!!! I'M ITALIAN!!! I CAN'T EAR SUCH THINGS!!! LASAGNE SANDWICH?!!! HOW CAN A PERSON EAT STH LIKE THAT??? LASAGNE ARE REALLY DELICIOUS, BUT TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM THAT SHIZ!!!

  8. 8

im heading over to tesco to get myself one right now

  9. 9

Ummm, Perez… This is only available in the UK, so of course you won't be having one. The UK is NOT known for its Italian food, and we don't have guidos here. Being an American here, I miss good Italian food! Obviously, based on this being pawned off as Italian.

  10. 10

    vomit))

Are you seriously just using the term "guido" as an ethnic slur for anyone of Italian descent there Perez? I dont get it, how is that OK?

Also, no Italian would actually eat this over-processed shit.

    12

ummm…I think I'd rather have the 2 cheeseburgers

  13. 13

Re: Emesa – He's using it because of Jersey Shore. :/

  14. 14

Weird, I had lasagna for two days this week. Anyways, that doesn't look appetizing at all.

  15. 15

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

  16. 16

that's disgusting…..i wouldn't feed it to my dogs

  17. 17

    Barf!

  18. 18

That is so nasty…. I was getting on the 6 train and I saw someone muching on that shit the other day. Anyone ever been on peopleofthemta.com … ?FUCKEN HYSTERICAL!!

  19. 19

I'm all for innovation, but honestly, is there any town or city left that doesn't have multiple restaurants that will bring freshly made lasagne straight to your front door in 20 minutes? What possible market can actually exist for this disgusting product?

  20. 20

Come on Perez you Fat Ass! You know you'll eat one! Once a fat person always a fat person inside! You can't deny your fatness!

  21. 21

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Balsero

Yah its a good thing some one FatBoy hates didnt use tet word guido , he would pretend to be appalled .

Re: Hapepupe – Only in the UK, where tuna and corn are standard toppings for pizza!!

    23

WOW! Huge news Perez! These have been in Canada for years!

  24. 24

Re: Serena Loves Mario – What part of the UK do you live in? I'm mixed race English, half Jamaican half white British, and my Mum makes home made Italian food at least 3 times a week. I love Italian food. There are also lots of Italians where I live (north London).

  25. 25

Re: Serena Loves Mario – OK I've never seen this. Seriously where do you live? Must be up north somewhere. I've seen tune & sweetcorn in pasta, served cold like pasta salad, but not on Pizza! That's disgusting.

  26. 26

Re: nuzzyfavel – I agree, that thing looks disgusting. Lasagna is nothing like that and sure as hell can't be eaten in a sandwich

  27. 27

    disgusting

  28. lobri says – reply to this

    28

Ew! That doesn't sound good at all! I hope this isn't the food of the future. *gag*

  29. 29

That's about as disgusting as the "sandwich" KFC came out with!! It sounds TERRIBLE!!!

  30. 30

Re: michael89 – You can find good Italian food in London, but there aren't Italian restaurants everywhere, like in the States. America is full of Italian immigrants, so you can get wonderful Italian food everywhere. I also miss decent Mexican food, too, which I have found in London, but not Scotland.
Re: michael89 – Tuna and sweetcorn are standard ingredients on most UK pizza menus, nationwide. I just looked for London, and Domino's has both on their menu. How can you not have seen this before? Isn't it the most disgusting sounding thing ever?

  31. 31

World's first lasagne sandwich? Not so much. Melt Bar and Grilled in Lakewood, OH makes the Godfather which is phenomenal, way better than this trash. Melt's is lasagne made with Ohio City Pasta, meat sauce, melted provolone and their yummy thick bread.

  32. 32

mayonnaise is NOT found in any Lasagna anywhere.

except for this crap thrown together by a monkey who decided throwing just his crap around was NOT enough.

  33. 33

Absolutely disgusting! They won't allow people to wear PJs in the store, but a lasagna sandwich is fine…

I already don't shop as Tesco's b/c I think they're giving the store workers a little too much power, allowing them to remove anyone who's not dressed to their liking. But they can't pretend they're a high class establishment, selling this crap.

  34. 34

Americans can rest easy, there are no tesco` s in the U.S. though Mario may be a bit disappointed during a late night pig out session

  35. 35

no real guido or real Italian person would ever THINK of eating that………i use to watch my friends MAKE sauce and pasta after we went out drinking to the bars at college…..so if they will make sauce from scratch at 4 am, I think they won't eat that-heck-even a regular New Yorker wouldn't eat that!

  36. 36

im italian and id never touch that stuff; its an insult to real lasagna
btw can i call you all sorts of derogatory cuban names?
    stop saying guido

  37. 37

Why don't you have to write 'This is an advertisement' ?

  38. 38

Re: m81meg81 – They seriously don't allow people to wear pyjamas into the store?!? I've never heard that rule. Luckily they don't operate in the US, because that would become a huge issue! They're an ordinary grocery store - they're not Lidl or Asda, and are also not Waitrose, they're in the middle, so why are they insisting on a dress code like Harrods?!?
I've been disappointed by Tesco's quality lately, and have been shopping at Sainbury's for the past year, instead, and it's actually much cheaper and their delivery drivers aren't rude, like Tesco's.

  39. 39

    Ew? =p
