| Filed under: Gay Gay GayLatinoliciousLegal MattersPolitikInspirationLGBT

Amazing, wonderful, completely inspirational news!

Argentina has become the first Latin American country to legalize same-sex marriage!

After a reported 14 hour debate that ended today, the Senate passed the bill that gives gay and lesbian couples not only the equal right to marry, but also the right to adopt children!

President Cristina Kirchner is expected to sign off on the bill.

Progress is being made piece by piece!

We are so thrilled that Argentina has stepped up to the plate! Congratulations!

Oh really Perez? Equal rights for all? What about your tirade against an older women/younger guy having a child. Did you not say that kids would make fun of the baby at school? You are the biggest hypocrite on earth and until you admit it, I am going to be ANTI GAY. Down with GAYS until the HOMOS are ready to accept EVERYONE. NO JUSTICE FOR THE UNJUST.

    They should criminalize being gay!

  5. 5

You can't imagine how proud I am of MY COUNTRY. It was 14 hours of debate, wonderful (and terrible) things were said. But, in the end: we all won.

Cristina Kirchner, the president of Argentina didn´t support the bill, the leaders of her party were against the law, anyway, the suffrage was made freely, everyone voted according to their beliefs, anyway, congrats to the gay comunity!

    Cristina Kirchner SUCKS BALLS!

Perez and the gays always complaining about inequality and discrimination, when homos (and I mean gay men) are amongst the most racist people out there. Just flip the pages of your average gay mag and count how many non-white faces you see.

  11. 11

Whoa! Censorship on PH… I repeat my comment: Gay men are horribly racist, just look at any gay mag and see how many non-white faces you can find.

Re: maxie pad – Cry me a river bitch. That's because the (gay) majority is white. It's called target group. I don't want to see asians or blacks in every ad or magazine just to be politically correct.

  20. 20

I thought Chile passed a law earlier this year or late last year that also legalized gay marriage. Am I wrong about that?

  21. 21

ARGENTINEAN - And never more PROUD!

  22. 22

im agree with the bill and all that, but it wasnt thanks to a woman president, she would do everything she could to go agains church, she isnt in favour of gays, she is just going against the church, that is why she "supports" gay marriage. Im glad about this, but people have to know the kind of president that argentinian people have, now she wants to sell our glaciares to alemania which are the only reserv of sweet water that is left… yay im proud, you cant imagine how proud am i! f**k the presindent! cristina you suck! thanx
