It's official! Daniel Radcliffe has chosen his first film role now that he has completed the Harry Potter series.

After rumors have been swirling that he has expressed interest in starring in the upcoming supernatural thriller Woman in Black, publicist Romley Davies has confirmed that Daniel will be starring in the film.

The thriller is said to be about a young attorney named Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe's role), who travels to the home of a deceased woman to sort out her papers. While in the home, he uncovers many secrets and even has an encounter with a mysterious woman in black.

Interestingly, the movie's original adaptation in 1989 starred Adrian Rawlins, who plays Harry Potter's father James in the films.

And in other HP news, Tom Felton (Harry Potter’s Draco Malfoy) has joined Caesar: Rise of the Apes as Brian Cox’s son, co-owner of ape facility.

He will star alongside James Franco, Andy Serkis, Freida Pinto, and John Lithgow.

The film is "set in present-day San Francisco" and "deals with the aftermath of man’s experiments with genetic engineering that lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy."

Rise of the Apes is set to be released next summer!

Can't wait!

Wish Daniel was going to be in the Ape movie because he has a really huge king kong ;) ;)

  2. 2

    LOL

  3. 3

Tom Felton looks exactly like Carey Mulligan in that picture

Im sorry but did anyone notice that almost all the Harry Potter stars shed their cuteness after, like, the fourth movie? They look like grown men that will probably never make it in Hollywood again…have fun in the cubicles Daniel!

    A) Ever since the 4th movie, every one of them got hotter. Emma is gorgeous, Daniel needs the scruff and then he's sexy, and Rupert-OMG!!!
    B) This isn't Dan's 1st role outside HP. He's doing "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" on Broadway for 9 MONTHS!. He's slated to do a biopic about this photographer that died on the job or something. Now, he's doing this. Yes, it's the first offical one, but it isn't his first movie. He's done plenty of other stuff while doing Harry Potter.

Daniel Radcliffe is a great actor. The Harry Potter trio and Tom Felton are all great actors. They can out-act that Twilight trio ANYDAY! I'm so happy to see him in another movie. I hope they go mainstream. If they do, he'll have a very successful career here in the US. If they don't, then he's going to mostly be big in the UK.

By the way, when did you see Equus. I love Daniel Radcliffe so much, but he has such a small wand. At least on the day I went he did. Well, it's not huge, but it's not Danny Boneduce, it's a hell of a lot bigger than Boneduce's.

They're making The Woman in Black into a film??????? Another one???? The 1989 one was pretty crap to be honest, but the book and play are both so fantastic. I really hope they don't wreck it!

i love perez because he loves harry potter(:

  8. 8

Oh I cannot wait to see Tom in the new movie

  9. 9

ive seen the woman in black on stage, it was a very good play, they only had 3 actors and some good stage effects so i have high hopes. im weirdly interested in the ape film too

such a shame they grew up. they all used to be so cute.

    Re: Nixter17 – - PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. 12

DanRad looks hyper in this pic. And Perez you left out that Tom will be starring in a horror movie with Ashley Greene.

  13. 13

that's funny I remember you being a jackass to James Franco for being in this movie.

  14. 14

The Woman in Black, is actually a play and it is really fun and scary in the theatre. I'd be interested to see how they turn it into a movie.

  15. 15

He seems too young to play an attourney

  16. 16

AWESOME!!!! GO Dan and Tom!! Those are two impressive movie roles. Dan's also doing "How to Succeed in Business" and "All Quiet on the Western Front." I'm so proud of him! :D

    Re: Nixter17

Right…that's why Dan has gotten not one, not two, but FOUR highly sought after roles (How to Succeed…, Journey, Woman in Black, and All Quiet on the Western Front) and the last two HP films haven't even been released yet. That's why Tom just joined an impressive ensemble in a highly anticipated film.

  18. 18

This is NOT Daniel's first role outside of Potter. He's also doing Journey is the Destination and All Quiet on the Western Front. :D

  19. 19

    couldnt care less…

    Love them!

  21. 21

As long as he does NOT do any nude scenes! :-O Horrific! I saw those vile nudies of him from that "Equus" stage play, and he had a teeny shrunken weinie & a HUGE nut sack that was pale pink and looked astonishingly like a hamster's! (((gag!))) I do NOT want to pay ten bucks to go look at THAT at the theatre! O, HELL 2 da NO!!!

  22. 22

I'm with you Daniel, but you can do it better…come on!!!

  23. 23

I thinks however that Tom will do more than Daniel in Hollywood…he's like comercial!!!

  24. 24

    so seeing those.

  25. 25

Oh great. Another Planet of the Apes spinoff…Yawn.

  26. 26

One wishes Dan well. He is an excellent actor, serious and sober. The kind we need more of. Let's hope all his movies do well so he keeps on doing them.

  27. 27

    Re: Lady_Saccharine_Sweetness – He's not playing an attouney, he's playing a lawyer.

  28. 28

I'll go and see both of these movies when they come out. Looking forward to them both!
