I watched the video and read the lyrics to see if I could figure out what the message was. Not really sure. The video appears to be a Last Supper scenario with a whore version of Mary Magdalene, the absence of a Christ figure and other religious symbolism that ends in a crucifix pose. The lyrics read a little like she's singing about a lesbian relationship. Maybe the message has something to do with social persecution.

Back to her music & this song. I like it, it's catchy…but not as good as her other their other stuff. This is a bit more pop-y [bet she'd love that comment] where as the other songs have a darker side to them which I like. Still, I love the band.

I wouldn't EVER even compare her to Courtney. Courtney Love had her own feminist point of view, she screamed the things she screamed and wore the things she wore for a reason. Courtney was a poet, and her lyrics ACTUALLY MEAN SOMETHING. She was the best female songwriters, and she wasn't afraid to speak her mind and question the world and all of it's superficiality. Courtney Love and her husband had a strong bond over their art, they'd send each other insane and beautiful poems. Courtney's songs changed the way I see things, when she'd scream "Was she asking for it? Was she asking nice?" SHE WAS SCREAMING AT THE WORLD.
