A Worthwhile Cause

CLICK HERE to read up on and sign your name to a very worthwhile petition!

"In light of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill disaster, Women of the Storm is rallying to restore America’s Gulf coast now and for future generations. The “Be the One” effort intends to galvanize the nation around the cause of coastal restoration in order to demand that government leaders address this critical issue. By signing this petition, you add your name to the list of Americans demanding a plan, fully funded and implemented, for the restoration of the Gulf of Mexico, its coastlines and its wetlands."

It's too bad Canadians can't sign the petition. We're just as concerned about the effects of the spill as those closer to it.

Do you really think the Obama Administration cares about some names on a petition, to save the Gulf?
    Are you kidding?
Obama is not going to waste a disaster, on actually fixing the ruination of our southern shores.
Bobby Jindal has been fighting tooth and nail, all the obstacles that Obama and his people have thrown at them.
Obama lives every day for another catastrophe.

Re: luvs2tango – So what's the alternative then? Just sit around and do absolutely nothing about it? At least the petition is an attempt to get the message across, regardless of whether he acknowledges it or not, at least someone is trying to do something.

If we were to all sit back and let bad things happen we'd be letting the 'bad guys' win. So maybe you don't think the petition will work but at least the effort is there and at least the people most effected know that there's still hope and that there are people who care about their well-being, whether their president is involved in that or not.

Re: ohcanada12 – No, stone should be left unturned in trying to save the coastline.
My comment is more on the state of affairs from the top down in our government.
If Bush was still President, there'd be 100 comments, sticking in to The Man and how he failed.

Since the Messiah Dumbama regime has done NOTHING for the last 90 some days, maybe these folks can do a better job!
