Prosecutors Try To Get Wesley Snipes' Appeal Bond Revoked!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooLegal MattersWesley Snipes

Ouch! He is not catching a break, is he?

Federal prosecutors in Florida are apparently attempting to get Wesley Snipes' appeal bond revoked, so he will have to serve his three year prison sentence for not filing his income tax returns!

He was previously given an appellate bond and allowed to stay out of jail, but apparently the feds don't want to see that happen!

Sucks! But the rules are the rules!

You gotta pay your taxes, people!

This is racism, pure and simple!

I don't understand how Lindsay FUCKUP Lohan can get away with a 90 day sentence, mind you only required to serve 2 weeks of that sentence, for what she's done and Wesley Snipes' appeal bond was unapproved and he's in the slammer for 3 years for TAX EVASION? Give me a fucking break. That's bullshit. Repo his house, cars, etc… but 3 fucking years?

It's not like he screwed them out of a couple hundred dollars!!! It was $12 MILLION!!! Of COURSE they're pissed!!!

  4. 4

Wesley Snipes earned 38 million dollars and didn't file a tax return or pay any taxes. The IRS loves to make an example of high profile tax evaders. It's not like he couldn't afford to pay his taxes or hire an accountant.

They can pollute the entire Gulf of Mexico and incur billions in costs and livelihoods, and no one's in jail yet; but look how hard they go after Snipes for taxes on or for 12 million. Alrighty, then.

Re: @v@ – Do you think he was justified? Death and taxes, the only two sure things!

    Re: Carlops54

How the fuck is this racism? The idiot followed the advice of some dipshit tax protesters that claim taxes are "unconstitutional" even though those same arguments have been ruled invalid in courts tons of times.

If anything, your comment just explains why many whites still don't respect minorities in this country - because some idiot has to cry racism no matter what the circumstances are just because some minority got caught doing something they shouldn't have. Maybe if the minorities quit fucking crying every time one of them did something stupid and got locked up for a valid reason, minorities would get more respect. At this point, it's like the boy who cried wolf one too many times with you idiots…

Re: twista – My sentiments exactly!!! Lindsay gets a ridiculously shortened sentence, but this guy has to sit for 3 years? Sure, they're pissed, that's a lot of money–but why are they making an example out of a high-profile person in this retrospect, and just letting Lindsay get off on about 2 weeks?

Re: GothamGirl – No, and wasn't suggesting that. He didn't pay his taxes, and I read somewhere that he was being misadvised by some questionable administrators, but he made the cash and ignorance is no defense.
It's just that so many who make so much more than he does manage to almost completely avoid taxes legally.

Why didn't anyone let him make money like Nicholas Cage and pay it back. What a waste throwing him behind bars when he could be making movie money. Gimme a break !

He had bond and was allowed to stay out of jail pending his appeal, which he lost, so now, he's going to the slammer. If it had been any of us, not a celebrity, we'd already be put there.
